From the Principal's Desk

Welcome Treasure Coast Classical families to the 2022-2023 School Year! I am so excited to be your principal and look forward to getting to know all of you a little better this year. I hope you made amazing memories this summer and were able to spend time with your families soaking in the summer sun. I was fortunate to spend some time in Cape Cod with our family and enjoyed the cooler weather while watching baseball and eating way too much.

We have been working hard to prepare for your scholar’s return and we are ready to welcome everyone back on campus. The first day of school is my second favorite holiday. It is a day that represents a new beginning, a time when we all get a fresh start. Making the commitment to getting back on a schedule, eating better, exercising, having an actual bedtime, and becoming disciplined again paves the way for excellence in all that we do.

Children need structure and schedules. They need us to provide boundaries to guide and remind them of what is best. Create an environment of success for your scholars. Encourage them to find a quiet place to complete homework each evening. Sit and help them if they don’t understand. This isn’t just true for the lower school scholars but our upper school scholars as well. Creating a daily rhythm for your scholars helps to develop disciplines that will set the tone of their school year and will be an antecedent of many successes. Thank you for all you are doing to prepare our scholars for an amazing year. I look forward to serving all of you well. My commitment will remain strong to provide the best education possible while teaching virtues that will form their character.

I look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher on Monday. Enjoy your last few days of summer break!

Kirsten Pendleton, Principal

We look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher on Monday. Parent volunteers will be stationed throughout the school to help you find your way around. If you have not signed up yet there are a few afternoon spots left. In the cafeteria on Monday, you will be able to:
  • Pay for School Supplies or pay here.
  • Pick up your car line tag
  • Pick up your printed FSA scores
  • Get your upper school scholar's schedule
  • Look through our selection of donated, pre-owned uniforms
  • Pick up a spirit shirt (please bring a check or order here - Preamble shirt or Titan Shirt)
  • Get all your questions answered!
Parents must have a FOCUS parent portal account in order to access assessment scores, course grades, and report cards. You will also use FOCUS to update contact information, medical information, and other important items. Here are instructions to help you with your FOCUS account. Please note that the SSN area should be left blank. Once you add your scholar(s) you will need to call the school for verification and we will link the account.
Athletics Interest Meeting

TCCA is excited to begin establishing the foundation of an athletic program this year! We are looking to start with a cross-country, swimming, and track team. We would like to invite middle and high school scholars (6th-9th) and their parents to join us for more information about participating in these teams. If your scholar is interested in being a part of TCCA athletics this year, please join us on Thursday, August 18th from 5:30-6:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director, Mrs. Sinatra-Ibalarrosa, at dsinatra@treasurecoastclassical.org

If you are interested in providing water jugs and/or a water cooler for your scholar(s) classroom please contact Greg Campbell at Sailfish Springs directly at 1-772-888-9113 or via email.
IT'S TIME TO SIGN UP!

We need all TCCA parents and guardians to download the PikMyKid App on their smartphones and create an account. On this app, you will pick your child's default dismissal choice...such as car line, B&A Care, Walker, etc. This will help us keep your child safe during dismissal times and a convenient tool to make any changes you need for dismissal for a particular timeframe or new default.

You may use the QR code to the appropriate app store to download the app on your phone (on the flyer below). If you don’t want to have the App on your phone, you can create and access your account online from your desktop by going to https://parents.pikmykid.com. You can log in and click on your student's name in order to make pick-up changes. However, you can not check in on your desktop. As long as you have your student's Car Tag at the time of pick up, the car line staff will enter your 4-digit PIN and this will allow your student to be dismissed. It is imperative for all parents to sign up for an account. You do not need the app on your phone but you DO need a PikMyKid account, and the more people that use the app, the smoother car line will function.

You will be the Primary Parent for your student and in control of their dismissal. You can delegate alternate individuals, but they should have the App also, as it will send a matching number to the phone for us to validate the correct person is picking up the proper student.

Also, note that only two accounts are allowed to be associated on file for each student as an enrolling parent. However, other family members can still use the app as a delegate, provided one of the connected persons delegates access to you directly from their App. The connected contacts can also make the recurring delegation to you through the student calendar.

NOTE: PikMyKid PIN will be the same as your student's MySchoolBucks PIN that will be used for lunch, BASE, and other activities. Your child will need to know this number.

If you do not receive your car tag at Meet the Teacher on Monday, please pick it up at the front office after morning drop-off on Wednesday.
We are on our way to a safer, quicker, and more efficient dismissal process!

HELP US PREVENT A CRAZY CAR LINE BY FOLLOWING THESE GUIDELINES

  • Drop-off times are from 7:00 a.m.-7:55 a.m. If you are dropping off past 7:55 a.m., you will need to park and walk your scholar to the office.
  • We will be redirecting traffic when walkers are crossing through the parking lot. When you see scholars crossing the parking lot, pay attention to the person directing you to go to the parking row closest to the school building. Make a right turn into that row. Once you reach the end of that row, zipper in with the lane of cars in front of you.
  • Abstain from cell phone usage. Maintain awareness. It is against the law to use your cell phone while in a school zone. Once stopped in car line you may use the PikMyKid app to dismiss your scholar(s).
  • Dismissal is 3:00 p.m. Cars are not permitted on campus until 2:30 p.m. Do not idle or park in the turn lanes on Cove Rd. Do not enter Legacy Cove property. Do not park on Ault Ave or at The Grace Place. Do not park anywhere near Anderson Middle School.
  • Walkers will be released at 2:50 pm.
  • If you are in the area of a cone, drop your scholar off, allow them to walk, and move forward. Do not stop when there is room to pull forward. Do not wait to pull up to the school entrance. Teachers, staff, and Safety Patrol will be stationed throughout the drop-off area to assist your scholars and keep them safe.
  • CLOSE THE GAPS! Keep moving forward!
  • Picking up scholars late WILL result in late charges. If you have an emergency that prevents you from being on time please contact the front office.
  • Exercise patience. Keep in mind that the car line is always slow during the first two or three weeks of school. This is not indicative of how the remainder of the school year will go.
  • Please see the graphic below.

Safety is our priority! Thank you for your compliance!
Bike and Scooter Safety

Any scholar on an electric scooter is legally required to wear a helmet. Scholars on kick (non-powered) scooters, bikes, and electric scooters should be walking their scooters at all times on campus. Scooters and bikes should be parked in the bike and scooter racks located in the back carline. Only those with an address within 2 miles of the school will be allowed to walk, bike, or scooter to school. (Sorry! Each address will be looked up when a walker form is submitted)

In 2019 House Bill 453 was passed into law, modifying Florida law so that the operator of a motorized scooter has all the rights and duties applicable to the rider of a bicycle under §316.2065. See Fl. §316.2128(1). And under §316.2065(3)(D), all riders under the age of 16 have a legal duty to wear a helmet while riding an electric scooter.
Our Raise Craze fundraiser will take place September 1-17 and every scholar and family member is invited to participate! It is as simple as doing an Act of Kindness (AOK). We will wrap up the fundraiser by doing an AOK together - cleaning up the beach on International Coastal Cleanup Day, Saturday, 9/17.

All the money raised during Raise Craze will go directly to offset transportation costs for field trips. This year, every grade is going on a field trip! We will be bringing you more information about both this fundraiser and field trips in the days to come, so stay tuned!

School Uniform Info - Land's End is not the only place to buy school uniforms. Parents have successfully found dress-compliant uniform pieces at The Children's Place, Target, Walmart, and French Toast. Rack Room Shoes usually has a good selection of dress code compliant shoes which must be solid blue, black, or brown.

While the school logo is not required on shirts, we partner with Stimmell's Screen Printing and Embroidery to offer our families a local embroidery option. Stimmell's has the TCCA logo on file and can add it to any of our approved uniform shirts, jackets, or sweaters. Stimmell's is located at 2170 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart in the Belle Plaza.
Please consider donating to this GoFundMe for Ms. D'Andrea's family. We will also be creating a memorial on campus in her honor, more details to come.
If you are interested in sponsoring or volunteering please email dborzillo@treasurecoastclassical.org. Tickets will go on sale in August.
