Snowlion Rep is
Theater
Made in Maine

Everything has changed so utterly in the last few months, it's difficult to know what to say, except:  in the dark times, we still need stories - stories that uplift, that cause us to examine life, that entertain us when most needed.

We at Snowlion Rep look forward to the time when we can make our small contribution to getting back to a new normal by continuing to tell stories, and to come together in the sacred space where we laugh, cry, think, and feel.

Our thoughts are with ALL who are coping with these extraordinary times!

Sincerely,

Al D'Andrea, Artistic Director

The Secret Princess
is postponed - but check out this amazing cast!

Even though our world premiere production of The Secret Princess has been postponed to the fall (or if needed, beyond), we want to introduce you to the fabulous cast that will be taking the journey with us when we are back on the boards!

Mary Johnston Letellier plays CONRAD,  the Duke of Klugenstein and Prince-in-Waiting of Brandenburg, scared of his own shadow but determined to do what is just - if he could JUST reveal his true identity
(that is, Princess Conradine)!

Zacharian Stearn plays MAXIMILLIAN, the Gezetzmeister (Minister of Law) of Klugenstein, confused by his love for two 'Connies'!

Märgen Soliman plays  Princess CONSTANCE of the Kingdom of Brandenburg, a passionate rule breaker who always falls for the wrong guy!

Jenna Guiggey  plays GUDA ("like the cheese only spelled different"), lady-in-waiting to Princess Constance, lusty and busty and ready to roll!

Aaron Engebreth  plays COUNT DETZIN, the charming, crafty host of the evening's festivities, guaranteed to be up to no good!

Nancy Durgin plays DUCHESS MARGARETA, ruler of Klugenstein: vain cougar, ambitious snake, devoted/overbearing mother to Conrad!

Pat Scully  plays KING ULRICH of Brandenburg, the happiest man in Germany who despite being on his 'deathbead' finds the silver lining!

Craig Capone plays a   surly bureaucrat, a  pompous messenger, a  sycophantic doctor , a  dim-witted shepherd, and even the marvelous MARK TWAIN himself!

AS SOON AS THE SHOW IS ON THE SCHEDULE AGAIN, we'll let everyone know.
Meanwhile, check:

the show will return!

Snowlion Rep's classes with
Acorn Acting Academy postponed

Stay tuned for announcements of the resumption of acting classes, which will start up again when it is safe to do so.

Next up will be:

ACTION and OBJECTIVE:
The Heart of Acting Technique

Learn to be COMPELLING and POWERFUL in this exploration of the engine that drives the actor's performance and the heart that makes its core...ACTION & OBJECTIVE!

Students will take an in-depth look at two of the most important elements of the actor's work in creating a role in a play. A variety of games, exercises, improvisations, and scene work will explore "what the character wants" (objective) and "what the character does to get what s/he wants" (action).

Many influences on Action and Objective will be explored, including given circumstances, location, character, emotion, and justification.  The work is based on the teachings of stage legend Stella Adler, with whom teacher Al D'Andrea studied extensively.

The workshop is ideal for experienced actors who seek to master their understanding and use of these central elements of stagecraft. Beginning actors will receive a strong foundation in these critical elements of performance which are often not emphasized in traditional acting classes. The class is open to all ages 16 and above.

NOTICES WILL GO OUT WHEN CLASSES RESUME
