WELCOME to the January 2022 issue of The Holiday Traveler - our very own overview of what's happening in the world of travel!

2022 travel planning is now in full swing for many of our clients! Obviously, there is LOTS of pent-up travel demand, but the industry has also seen fantastic progress in safely discontinuing protocols that have discouraged travel over the last two years. For example:

  • The CDC has canceled the Conditional Sale Order (or "CSO") that required by law cruise lines to adhere to the strictest protocols in the travel industry. ALL cruise lines have continued to adhere to these protocols with very few serious outbreaks on any ships currently sailing. Virtually ALL cruise passengers and crew are vaccinated and tested as a requirement to sail.
  • The islands of the Caribbean have continued to allow cruise vacation visitors into ports without testing for each destination they visit. Many are now also starting to reevaluate testing and quarantine requirements for visitors to hotels & resorts in conjunction with CDC recommendations.
  • Several European countries, including Ireland, England, and Spain have eliminated the need to pre-test or quarantine upon arrival for vaccinated visitors - and removed many of the restrictions in-country. The European Union as a whole is now working on a plan to include all EU countries in this safe reopening.

As you can see - we are swiftly moving towards a return to a more stable travel environment.
