The American Meteorological Society's Annual Meeting and Student Conference


Adriana Rademacher, M.S. Environmental Science, presented research completed by herself, other undergraduate students, and adviser, Dr. Erik Crosman, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science. “Our study partnered with the National Weather Service in Amarillo, TX and Texas Tech University. The project was funded by a UCAR COMET NWS Partners Grant, and it focused on gaining a better understanding of the spatial and temporal variations in the (Palo Duro) Canyon for public health and forecasting applications to assist the Amarillo National Weather Service forecasting office." Well done!

Heidi Villalba

Heidi Villalba, B.S., Biology '10, and M.S. Biology '13. Heidi is currently a research assistant, teaching neurophysiology for first year veterinary students at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. She will continue her passion for teaching, research and mentoring in veterinary medicine.

As a pharmaceutical scientist, her research interests are in neuroscience, neuroprotective agents, ischemic stroke outcomes, brain cancer (such as glioblastomas) and sex differences. Heidi is an outstanding graduate of the Department of Life, Earth and Environmental Sciences!
