Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
June 7, 2021

Dear Roslyn Families,

This morning, Governor Cuomo held a press conference with NYSDOH Commissioner Zucker, where the Governor stated that based on the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • Masks are no longer required to be worn outdoors in the school setting
  • Masks are still required to be worn indoors in the school setting

Effective tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8, (and likely for the remainder of the school year) students and staff will not be required to wear masks when outdoors. We will continue to monitor the situation. If you have any questions, concerns or specific personal matters in this regard, please contact your child's building principal. Masks will be required upon entrance and exit to/from the school building and while indoors.

We expect the guidance will be revisited by the NYSDOH before the new school year in September. As always, we will continue to communicate promptly with you should new information become available.

We will continue to provide a healthy and safe environment for all. Thank you for your cooperation and patience throughout this unprecedented year.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
Superintendent of Schools
