Dear Parishioners,

I would like to thank you all who have responded to my inquiry about a possibility – if desired – for some changes inside our church. I admit that your answers were truly educational for me.
When reading some of the answers I felt sometimes misunderstood and thought that I’m to blame because I should have crafted my invitation for your input on that matter in a little bit better and clearer way.

Well, what really matters is that as the ‘Newbie” to the parish I have learned how much you love your church the way it is, and no (environmental religious) inspiration is necessary as long as we keep the same character of the community we have. Even though 30% of the responding community members would welcome some kind of changes, nevertheless the vast majority of 70% of the community prefer no changes at all. That speaks volumes and is the best testimony that St. Anthony Church became for you a spiritual home. And that is what we want and strive for at the end of the day. We want to be at home in our church.

I’m kind of proud of all of you when hearing about such a strong connection that you have with St. Anthony’s. I would like to thank all of you for your input and say:

The COMMUNITY has spoken! There will be no changes.

With the 2nd Sunday of Advent when we light the second Candle of Peace, I wish all of you peace of mind and peace of your heart. Let’s build together the kingdom of God starting in our church and in our community.

Blessings,
Fr. Tad

Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom Bible Study

Join the Wednesday night Bible study as we delve into the compelling story of the first Christians:

“They faced secular forces, internal strife, and hostile crowds, and despite all of this, they brought the kingdom of God to a broken world and the love of God to the hearts of men.
Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom traces how the gospel witness spread outward in waves from
Jerusalem, and reveals how the seeds of Church structure and authority took root. Presenter Jeff Cavins shows how the joys and struggles of the early Christians in living the life of Christ apply to us today.” --Ascension Press

Would you like to expand your understanding of the Book of Acts or are you looking for a new activity to do from home? Under shelter-in-place guidelines, the group is   discussing one lesson every other Wednesday at 7:00 to 8:30 pm via Zoom and viewing a related video online on our own time during the alternating week. This new study begins in late January. The fee is $36 plus shipping and handling. For questions or to sign up, contact Son Nguyen at sonvan.nguyen@gmail.com.
