Parents, grandparents, foster parents, childcare providers, aunts, uncles, babysitters and anyone who plays a caregiving role in the life of a child of any age are all invited to participate in a free conference being offered Saturday, March 12th, at Lassen High School in Susanville. This year the annual event’s theme is, Seeing Through a Whole New Lens.
The focus of the 2022 Family Connections Conference is to get some ideas on how to look at the joys and challenges of parenting through a new lens. Attendees can expect food, conversation and memorable presentation from this year’s featured speakers, The Avery and Brian Experience.

This day is designed for participants to walk away feeling refreshed, inspired and with some new tools to add to their toolbox.
Attendees can expect food, conversation and great information and according to organizers, parents, childcare providers and educators will all greatly benefit from this event.

Bridge Damaged by Baxter Creek
January 28, 1951
Baxter Creek flooded Monday afternoon and washed out a bridge on the county road in Honey Lake Valley, south from Missouri Bend school.
A veteran rancher in the area said it is the greatest runoff in 25 years. He said the static water level in a well, normally nine feet, now has risen to 39 inches.
Water was receding today beyond flood waters were running a quarter of a mile wide over fields in the area Tuesday, but no crop damage is believed to have been done.
