Local Government Relief Funds for Small Businesses
Dear WANADA Members,
A few of the county governments in our region are planning to offer varying levels of financial relief to small businesses whose operations have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last week, Anne Arundel County announced the creation of the
Small Business Customer and Employee Protection Grant Program. The grant program, which will also begin accepting applications in early June, will award up to $10,000 to small businesses based in the county to help them defer the costs of personal protective equipment and other safety enhancements as they begin ramping up operations this summer. For more details on the program,
please click here.
The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation has created a
Telework Assistance Fund, which provides up to $2,500 in grant funding to local businesses with 100 or fewer employees to defray costs associated with setting up a teleworking system. For more information,
please click here. The application form can be viewed
at this link.
And as a reminder, Prince George's County has extended the application window for their
COVID-19 Business Relief Fund. According to
the program's FAQ page, the county's fund provides loan and grant funds to local for-profit businesses who have also sought support from state and federal relief programs.
Please let me or Joe Koch (
