An Announcement from Fr. Joseph
When the “We Stand With Christ” capital campaign began several years ago, parishes were tasked with designating different aspects of parish ministry that they would like their monies to go toward. Here at St. Jude, we designated three areas that we would like to finance through the WSWC disbursements: children & youth ministry, adult faith formation, and the physical plant needs of the parish.

I am happy to announce that we have taken a big step toward fulfilling this plan, in forming a new position at St. Jude’s: “Family Ministry Coordinator”. The Family Ministry Coordinator will lead and plan events for children and families such as Vacation Bible Camp, Family Movie Nights, Family Pilgrimages, a Mom’s group, a Catholic newsletter for parents, and many others events and programs for families to gather, grow in friendship, and grow closer to Christ. The salary for this position, for at least the first two years, will be paid from the We Stand With Christ funds that our parish raised.

We are delighted to bring on Jessica Iannotta to fill this role. Many of you know her and her family – she has taught Religious Education, led the monthly Children’s Rosary, and been instrumental in bringing “Formed” and our Friday morning group to discuss “The Chosen”. She has a real heart for families and kids, and a passionate love for the Lord. We have already met to discuss many of the upcoming events – and she’s got some great ideas and huge enthusiasm! Stay tuned for a survey that will be sent out digitally, to see what sort of events families are interested in, and who might be willing to help volunteer. We’re very blessed to have her in our parish.

Speaking of Vacation Bible Camp, save the date! It’s returning to St. Jude on July 11-15. We will need lots of volunteers – both adults and teens – and we hope that all of the kids of our parish are excited for that week!

We welcome Jessica into this new role – and stay tuned for many great upcoming events!

Camp Veritas - Best Catholic Summer Camp Ever!

Camp Veritas is a week-long sleep-away camp for teens entering grades 7-12! Held in upstate NY, this camp combines all the amazing camp activities of sports, boating, swimming, rock climbing, zip lines, and making great friends with our Catholic faith: daily Mass, Rosary, Adoration, powerful worship music, dynamic talks. Where else can you play dodgeball with nuns, or go straight from the sports field to encountering Christ in the Eucharist!

All kids in grades 6-12 are invited to register for a week of Camp Veritas! The dates are August 8-13 (for rising 10th-12th graders) or August 14-20 (for rising 7th-9th graders). Special discount - through the generosity of benefactors, all St. Jude parishioners will automatically receive a $200 discount on their registration!

This camp is an incredible, life-changing, unforgettable week - not only the most fun you will ever have, but also the most powerful encounter with Jesus Christ. Fr. Joseph will be there - hope to see our St. Jude's youth there as well!
