Join us for Live in Real Life featuring Craig Scott, a Columbine High School shooting survivor, to learn how to become more emotionally resilient so you can live life with a positive outlook as you face any challenges or setbacks that come your way. The event will be held on Monday, January 31.

  • 6:30 p.m. - Doors and vendors open and pre-entertainment by Sean's Garage begins.
  • 7 p.m. - Program Begins

The event is free and open to all, though families with teens are specifically encouraged to attend.

RIVERTON HOPE WALK:
WALK WITH US FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION ON FEBRUARY 5
All are invited to join together to walk for suicide prevention at the Riverton Hope Walk on Saturday, February 5 at 9 a.m. Join us in giving HOPE to those who may be struggling and to support those who have been impacted by suicide.

The walk will begin at Riverton High School and end at Spirit Corner at the intersection of 12600 S and Redwood Road in Riverton.

RIVERTON CITY RELEASES RESULTS OF CITIZEN SURVEY
Riverton City has released the results of a citizen survey conducted in December 2021 to assist the city’s elected officials in strategic planning and budgeting efforts. The results of the survey were formally presented to the Riverton City Council in a strategic planning meeting on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

“We had a tremendous response rate from our citizens with 10% of our adult population completing the survey,” said Mayor Trent Staggs. “We made citizen engagement one of our priorities four years ago and have taken deliberate steps to increase it since then. The amount of participation in this survey is unprecedented for us and absolutely shows that our community is becoming more informed and engaged.”

YOUNG ARTISTS INVITED TO SUBMIT ARTWORK TO PUBLIC DISPLAY
Calling all young artists! Riverton City is accepting artwork entries from February 1-15 for the Not Your Parent's Art Show. Young artists of all kinds age 18 and younger are welcome to enter the show for free. Art will be displayed for public viewing at the Old Dome Meeting Hall from February 15 to March 16. The artwork entry submission period closes February 15.

COME RUN IN THE RIVERTON HALF MARATHON OR 4LIFE 5K!
Come run the Riverton Half Marathon or 4Life 5K on Saturday, March 26! The races begin at Riverton City Park at 9 a.m. and take runners along routes near the Jordan River. Cost is $40 for the Half or $25 for the 5K through general registration, which closes February 28. Cost goes up during last registration, beginning on March 1.

UTAH ARTISTS EXHIBITION CONTINUES AT THE OLD DOME MEETING HALL; PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD FRIDAY
The Utah Artists Exhibition will continue at the Old Dome Meeting Hall until February 16. The exhibition features the work of David "Oz" Osterczy, Brian Baity, Anika Ferguson, and Gunter Radinger.

A special public open house is being held for those who would like to browse the artwork and meet the artists on Friday, January 28, from 6-9 p.m. at the Old Dome Meeting Hall. Some art pieces will be available for sale by the artists.

Regular visiting hours are Monday-Wednesday, Noon-5 p.m. or at other times by appointment by calling 385-237-3421.
RIVERTON CITY PUBLISHES POPULAR ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021
Riverton City has published its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for Fiscal Year 2020-2021. The PAFR is an easy to understand summary of the city's financial activities and position.

The report includes details on net position, revenues, expenditures, capital assets and outstanding debt.

A more in-depth view of the city's financial activities is available in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which can be viewed here at any time.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS:
BE READY UTAH EXPO TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 25-26
Individuals and families interested in becoming more prepared for emergencies are invited to attend the Be Ready Utah Expo on February 25-26 at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy.

The expo will feature 50+ exhibitors and 30+ preparedness classes. Entry is $5 for each day. Those age 12 and under get in free.

The 2022 Recreation & Events Calendar has been mailed out to every household in Riverton. The calendar includes a schedule of city meetings, community events and recreation programs for 2022.

If you didn't receive a copy of the calendar, or if you would like an extra, please feel free to pick one up at the Recreation & Events window at Riverton City Hall at 12830 S Redwood Road during normal office hours.

Impounded Animals & Adoptions
Riverton City has several impounded animals that have not been claimed. Some of the animals are now up for adoption. We're looking to find each of them a home or reunite them with their owners. Click here to view impounded animals or those up for adoption.

City Office Closure
Riverton City offices will be closed on February 21 in observance of Presidents' Day. Offices will re-open on Tuesday, February 22.

Glass Recycling
Riverton City's glass recycling bin is located just off 13400 S on 4050 W, east of both the Maverik and South Hills Middle School and west of Holiday Oil Chevron. Click here for a map or recycling details. Residents are encouraged to use the bin to recycle glass items.

Landfill Vouchers
Riverton residents can pick up a free voucher to the Trans-Jordan Landfill at the Utility Billing Office at Riverton City Hall. Limit of two vouchers per year per household.

QPR Suicide Prevention Training
A QPR Suicide Prevention Training will be held on Thursday, February 17 at 7 p.m. at Riverton City Hall in the first floor conference room. The training is free and open to all. Those who work with youth in any capacity are encouraged to attend.

Riverton City Park - Pickleball Courts
Riverton City is in the process of installing four new pickleball courts at Riverton City Park. Some areas or amenities of the park, including the volleyball pit (which will be relocated), will not be in accessible until installation is complete.
