Volunteer & Donation Opportunities
Denver Inner City Parish Toy Drive
Once again, WPUMC will participate in a toy drive benefiting the Denver Inner City Parish. Now through 12/6 bring your donations the bins in the Narthex marked for drop offs.

See a list of toy donation suggestions for this year's drive.
Donate Suitcases and Backpacks
Do you have a rolling suitcase sitting in the basement or garage at home collecting dust during the travel-restricted winter of COVID? Why not put it to good use! For the fourth consecutive year, we are collecting rolling suitcases and backpacks to gift to our homeless neighbors in downtown Denver on Christmas Day. You can support this mission in either of two ways. You can donate rolling suitcases or backpacks by leaving them on Sheri and Matt Salis’ front porch at 285 South Williams Street, Denver, 80209 (just a few blocks from the church). Bring the ones you are not using, or check out the thrift stores or discount retailers (we are most in need of rolling suitcases). If you would prefer, you can make a fully tax deductible donation to Sheri’s and Matt’s nonprofit, Stigma. Here is a link to all the details, and to make a monetary donation. Thanks for supporting our neighbors in need this Christmas season!

Finance Committee Update
Season’s Greetings WPUMC family!

The holiday season is upon us, and although there are hard times surrounding us, the season has personally cheered me up. The Christmas music and lights keep me smiling. I hope that you are all reminded of the beauty and joy of the season and can enjoy as much as possible.
When my dad passed away, a good friend sent me a verse, Isaiah 43:2. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
This verse has kept me going and helped me through the dark tunnel to see the light at the end. It reminds me that we are not alone, nor do we enter any battle alone; God will get us through.
The Finance committee has been busy working to budget and forecast for what seems a difficult time to do so. As so many things keep changing, so do our possibilities. We are continually working to navigate finances to continue to be the strong community that WPUMC has always been. Thank you to you for your faith and encouragement. Please consider giving to the church if you are able. We enter this year with the understanding that most people’s financial position has been deeply impacted over the last 12 months. It is not too late to submit pledge cards, whatever it may say. We thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and know our continued prayers are with you all.

Kristiana DeYoung, Finance Committee at WPUMC
Children's Ministry
The Christmas Season is upon us and we will be celebrating a bit differently this year but it’s still going to be great! We know the reason for the season and that of course is the traditional Children’s Nativity Program, right? Well, we like to think so. The show must go on and in a creative way to make sure it happens. There is a short video and a SignUp Genius that gives a bit more details on how this will come together for your viewing pleasure during the Dec. 13th Sunday Service.
Sunday School will be the Nativity Story with a twist this month, so check us out by viewing the Friday morning email or Facebook on Park Kids at 10:30 Sunday mornings. We are also encouraging our children and their families to look into some of the December Missions projects that include a toy drive and rolling suitcase collection. Look under the Missions heading. I am going to be collecting kids art and small crafts to take to some Brookdale locations for the residents. The art items can be placed in a box under the black bench right inside the double doors during building hours or on my front porch. Email with any questions but PLEASE consider participating in one or ALL the missions. This is such a stressful year and giving back when we have so much really makes a huge difference in someone's life.

Merry Christmas and many blessings,

Sheri Salis
