SOUP4SIMPSON

Hello Wolverine,

SENIOR SHOUT OUTS

Parker Hauser
The oldest of the infamous Hauser brothers, and a perennial candidate for best-flow, Parker Hauser has been a hungry, workhorse midfielder at each level he's played. As Parker has grown older his play has steadily improved, combining the Bellevue "lunch pail" work ethic with his own unique edge and swagger. A skilled dodger and a mean defensive player, who'd score, ride someone out of bounds, smile at them, and then take them to the rack - Parker has never been afraid to step into the limelight when needed. A leader on the field and the huddle, Parker wants the ball in his stick when the chips are down and we need the ball in the back of the net. Like many of this year's seniors, Parker has pushed himself each year without complaint to be a leader on Bellevue's 2020 squad. While we look forward to continue coaching the two younger Hauser's, there will be no replacing the hard-nosed, easy-going Parker. Parker, we know you've overcome a lot in your lacrosse journey. Your resilience will prove to be extremely valuable! We look forward to cheering you on in your next adventure.
Brandon Huynh
Brandon has the eye of the tiger and ice in his veins. As one might imagine, that makes for some unreal saves! Goalies are special. They stand in a 6x6' cage and get peppered with shots from the start of practice to the very end. Each game, they are the last line of protection and the commander of the defense.
Brandon's whole being exhibits the best qualities of a top notch goalie and Team Captain. He carries himself with a collected prowess, a calm confidence. When Brandon gets pumped, you can see the energy level of the team surge. However, nothing compares to that instant when the whole world freezes; the offensive player gets his hands free and takes that shot. You know, the impossible shot to save - the one that makes your heart beat into your ears. Shot is loose... thump! Ball collides with heavy mesh. Eyes are up, balls away, Brandon starts another Bellevue fast break! It's happened too many times to be chance. Brandon, we know you've done thousands of physical and mental repetitions to prepare for this season. We're confident that skill and your attention to precise preparation will prove invaluable in all your big moments. Thank you for always staying coachable. We look forward to following you in your awesome journey ahead.

Conor Quinlan - Class of 2020, BHS Boys Lacrosse
Hi, I'm Conor Quinlan and I'm a senior at Bellevue High School who started playing lacrosse in 5th grade. My favorite high school memory during my time playing lacrosse at High School was the time when I played against Mercer Island with a lot of my boys and we won in overtime through a lot of effort and motivation. My plans after graduating High School is majoring in Computer Science (Cybersecurity or Software Engineering) at University of Denver. My last bit of wisdom for underclassmen/youth players is to stay healthy and motivated which will help you be happier in the future. My favorite phrase from a coach is to play for yourself, and to not worry about your opponents, focus on the gains and not the losses.
Thank you Conor for your dedication and commitment to your friends and teammates. Thank you for your LEADERSHIP mindset!

TEAM JAPANESE BLAST!
If you are interested in Japanese culture, Japanese anime, or take Japanese class and understand Japanese, why don't you join us, Team Japanese Blast? Team Japanese Blast is a group of parent and student volunteers who are engaged in translating the PTSA newsletter The Bellevue Blast into Japanese.
Hours for translation will qualify for volunteer hours, a graduation requirement!

SUBMISSIONS - 1 Weekly BELLEVUE BLAST EDITION
The Blast will be delivered once a week on Tuesday mornings. The deadlines for submitting articles are as follows:
- School news and PTSA articles - Friday deadline
- Athletics and Activities articles - Sunday deadline
- Submissions should be in plain text in the body of your email message or in a Word document.
- Items submitted may be accepted, rejected, or edited at our discretion.
- Please use a separate email for each article submitted.
- Titles should be included in the Subject line.
- Images may be included as JPEG or PNG files.
- Submissions received after Friday/Sunday will NOT be in the Tuesday issue, but will be in the following week's issue.
