RUSD Student Awards & Recognitions
RUSD Board of Education honors National Merit SemiFinalists and

Rowland Elementary Students Receive Backpacks & More

The Rowland Elementary cafeteria was packed with students as squeals of laughter were heard. Students were surprised as they received free backpacks filled with school supplies. Through its inaugural Big Summer Giveback program, Puente Hills Toyota, together with 450 dealerships nationwide will support local schools, including students at Rowland Elementary (pictured above) by teaming up with the Kids in Need Foundation.

As soon as we were told by Toyota of this wonderful cause we signed up immediately. This is a chance for us to give back to the community that has been so supportive of Puente Hills Toyota before and after the pandemic,” said Nicholas Cardin, Vice President-General Manager of Puente Hills Toyota. “The Toyota partnership with Kids In Need Foundation will have an immediate and positive impact on the kids and families right in our own backyard.”

"Seeing the sparkle in the eyes of our kids and their huge smiles that day warmed my heart," said John Martinez, Principal of Rowland Elementary. "We are so grateful to everyone for their generous gifts and spending time with our kids."
