[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - NLBMDA is pleased to announce Casco, Maine-based Hancock Lumber has been named the 2022 “ProDealer of the Year.”
Each year, the editors of HBSDealer and the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association select a lumberyard that exemplifies quality service and high-performance within the lumber and building material industry.
Hancock Lumber has been recognized as a Best Place to Work in Maine for eight straight years. Company CEO Kevin Hancock has had a wide impact on the lumber and building material industry, not only by leading an award-winning company, but also as an esteemed author and former Chairman of the NLBMDA Board of Directors.
This year's award honoree has been passed down through the Hancock family for seven generations and now spans across Maine and New Hampshire with its 12 lumberyards and several manufacturing facilities and design showrooms. With its newest family-owned acquisitions, Winnipesaukee Lumber and Laponite Lumber, Hancock Lumber broadened its reach and impact across New England.
“It’s humbling because—as a past chair of the NLBMDA—I know how many amazing lumber dealers there are across America,” Hancock said. “Our industry is filled with incredible companies that provide authentic and sustained value to their employees, industry, and community.” Hancock added: “At the same time, it is also exciting to be recognized as dealer of the year because it means that our employees, customers, and supply partners are combining their talents to create an experience that is nationally recognized as being unique and noteworthy.”
Hancock Lumber will formally accept the award during the 2022 ProDealer of the Year Industry Summit, an event that will bring the industry together for education and networking March 29-April 2, 2022.
Past honorees of the “ProDealer of the Year” award include McCray Lumber (2021), National Lumber (2020), and Mead Lumber (2019).
The Summit, hosted jointly by the NLBMDA and HBSDealer, provides an exclusive six-day educational forum designed to promote the growth of lumber & building product dealers, distributors, wholesalers, and the manufacturers who supply them.
