DEADLINE: Proposals for the 2026 IIMC Annual Conference Due MONDAY |

IIMC is calling for Requests For Proposals from convention bureaus in your area that would like the opportunity to bid to secure the right to host the 80th IIMC Annual Conference in May 2026. IIMC respectfully asks that you indicate your interest in undertaking this project by downloading and completing the RFP application.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 7.
Additional notable dates:
July 6: Notifications are sent to qualifying finalists
August/September: Site visits are conducted
November: IIMC Board of Directors vote

IIMC Begins Search for Director of Professional Development |
|
IIMC has started its search for a full-time Director of Professional Development. The position is located at IIMC HQ in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. It is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the Organization's mission, vision and plan. A complete job description may be found HERE.
The Director of Professional Development collaborates with affiliated college and university Institutes, State/Provincial/National Associations and assists in developing educational partnerships beneficial to and appropriate for the Organization. In collaboration with the Director of Certification and Conference Program, the Director of Professional Development is responsible for a variety of activities including developing online education programs, promotional and educational publications as well as other educational endeavors.

Virtual Athenian Dialogues Approved Indefinitely |
On Saturday, May 5, 2021, the IIMC Board of Directors voted to establish Virtual Athenian Dialogues as a permanent education offering and adopted an addition to the existing Athenian Leadership Policy specific to Virtual Dialogues.
Pre-approved Dialogues, including all the listings below and those listed on our Upcoming Dialogues page, are eligible for 3 CMC Education Points or 3 MMC Advanced Education Points with completion of the required learning assessment.

We continue to meet the challenges that 2020-2021 continues to present.
IIMC is collecting photos of Municipal Clerks rising to the challenge of working and living through a difficult year.
The City of Mountlake Terrace, Washington did a citywide mask mailing and multiple mask giveaways at food banks, school grab and go meal pick ups, senior center, apartment complexes and other general locations.
These events and citywide mailings were featured on Q13 local news.

IIMC staff continues to work daily, ascertaining that we are meeting our members' needs and ensuring there is continuity within the Organization. Staff continues to work full-time via a staggered schedule, splitting its time in the office and remotely as we slowly maneuver our way into having everyone safely back at headquarters. The timetable to return staff safely to a full office schedule is still in flux. Staff's safety and continuous service to our members are paramount. As of this E-Briefing, staff will continue to operate using a staggered schedule until it's safe to return everyone to work.
The Education Department has been working with Institutes and IIMC affiliated online companies to produce webinars and to provide complimentary and discounted online courses. The certification application and review process remain at two to three-weeks. Members who have certification points on file may still schedule appointments in available time slots to discuss reviewed certification applications and points received.
The Membership Department continues to be at your service via email or phone calls.
