7th Grade Roaring 20's Party!

In order to celebrate their hard work in Social Studies, Mr. Merrick's 7th graders donned their 'glad rags' and kicked up their heels for a Roaring Twenties party! Special thanks to the bouncers (Joshua and Ryan) for weeding out the ragamuffins and low lids. And props to Asha and Stella for teaching the Charleston to their classmates. They were the bee's knees and all had a jake time!

Congratulations Mr. Brinkop!

Congratulations to our very own Mr. Brinkop, who was selected to present at the 2021 National Association for Gifted Children Annual Conference in Denver, CO! Mr. Brinkop will be speaking about his Sustainable City unit, a fascinating social studies project that integrates many disciplines...Peabody-style!

Field Day

Peabody will be having its annual Field Day this year and we are looking for parent volunteers to help facilitate the stations. The Lower School day is on May 28th and the Middle School day is the afternoon of June 3rd. On that day, you will be responsible for explaining the rules of the game/activity and helping facilitate that station. Coach Fargo will give you an explanation for rules, guidelines, etc when you arrive.

Bio-Med Tech Girls

Bio-Med Tech-Girls is back for its 8th year, August 9-13! The program is a collaboration between the UVA Department of Biomedical Engineering and Charlottesville Women in Tech. Last summer, we took Bio-Med Tech-Girls online and were able to have participants from around the country. This year, they are both looking for feedback on the format as well as determining if we can do in-person activities. Wherever it happens, the week of August 9-13 will be filled with guest speakers, hands-on activities, and a design challenge focused on telemedicine. Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is June 25.

Who: 9th-12th grade; identify as female or nonbinary

When: August 9-13 (synchronous activities will happen between 10 AM and 4PM ET)

Where: Looking for input on in-person, online, or hybrid

Cost: FREE

Middle School Final Exam Schedule

Middle School exams will be held the week of May 31, 2021, from 8:45-10:45 AM on the following days:

Tuesday, June 1st: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry (No Pre-Algebra)

Wednesday, June 2nd: World Language

Thursday, June 3rd: 8th Grade Biology Only

Each teacher will provide specific details to their classes.
