NEW 2021 DSHRM Board Position Opening

DSHRM is adding one additional board seat for 2021. The board position is for a Strategic Liaison Board member. This role will have responsibility for strategic oversight of the website, and will act as a conduit between the critical committees that drive membership value - marketing, education, and membership.

Nominations for this position are now open. If interested, please submit a short bio (250 words or less) with your contact information to the Board (info@detroitshrm.org) by November 27th. Election will be the week of November 30th.

COVID-19 Update:
Putting the Pieces Together for Employers

Over the past eight months, Michigan employers learned to parse the state’s numerous executive orders for directives on workplace COVID-19 requirements. The Michigan Supreme Court’s decision in October striking down the Governor’s continued use of emergency powers did away with the executive orders. Filling that void, employers’ points of reference are now several new COVID-19 laws as well as rules and directives issued by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“MIOSHA”) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (“MDHHS”). Michigan employers should understand how these legislative and regulatory pieces fit together to create a new COVID-19 compliance framework.
