Dear Residents of Orangetown,

With the severity of yesterdays storm, there are many of our friends and family throughout Orangetown who are without power. I know that Orange & Rockland worked through the night repairing downed power lines and replacing transformers.

As of 11:00am Wednesday, August 5th, Orangetown has outages in the following areas:

6,656 - Orangetown (this represents 46.48% of residents)
380 - Village of Piermont (26.39%)
25 - Village of Grand View (14.71%)
696 - Village of South Nyack (56.91%)
1,712 - Village of Nyack (46.92%)

Of the over 6,600 customers without power, please take consolation in the fact that I am one of them.

The lobby area of Town Hall is air conditioned and has seating for any Town residents in need of a cool area. Tables have been setup and plenty of power strips have been put out for your use. Bathrooms are available from 9:00am through 9:00pm. Please bring all needed personal items.

Vending machines are available as well.

Please note: social distancing and masks will be required.

Please feel free to forward this information to others who may be interested. Thank you.
Sincerely,

Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny
