Challenges with living with gifted teens or young adults during the pandemic? Overwhelmed with intensity of having older kids at home?
Struggling to navigate the anxieties of anger and unknowns?

Join us for a weekly opportunity to share ideas, strategies, and support.  The 7 week online group will be lead by certified SMPG facilitator and parent to gifted young adults, Kathleen D. Crombie, MA, M.Ed and Deanna M. Kim, M.Ed,  Educational Therapist with special interest in helping teens/young adults with executive functioning skills.

Group discussion is guided by the book, A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children by James T. Webb, Janet L. Gore, Edward R. Amend, and Arlene R. DeVries. The book can be purchased online through sellers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. In addition, we will share other resources to consider to support the unique needs of gifted teens/young adults.

This parent discussion group follows the model created by Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG). SENG’s mission is to empower families and communities to guide gifted and talented individuals to reach their goals: intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually: www.sengifted.org.

Deanna Kim, M.Ed., is an Educational Therapist specializing in academic coaching and math interventions. Currently she provides her services at Summit Center, Walnut Creek and at The Athenian School, Danville. Deanna’s passion is to empower adolescents to grow in executive functioning skills through collaborating with parents, for which she coined the term T.O.P.S.© skills (Time Management, Organization, Planning, and Self-Understanding). For math support, Deanna uses Making Math Real methodology and demonstrates how learning math is another way to develop T.O.P.S. skills. Prior to joining Summit Center, she worked as a classroom teacher and learning specialist.
