2020 Program Guide/Update
The Theodore Roosevelt Council, as we all are, is continuing to monitor news and updates coming from local, state and federal authorities concerning regulations to curtail the spread of COVID-19 and keep all members of our communities safe.

  • We are continuing with our plans to open Onteora on-time this summer with the safety of all who attend as our top priority. While we will be prepared to adapt if we are not able to open camp on-time, we are not looking to alter the scheduled camping season at this time.

  • We have begun discussions with Sullivan County Commissioner of Public Safety regarding increased health and safety procedures and protocols for all Scouts, Leaders and Staff. While the ultimate decision as to when to open summer camp will most likely be made by New York State, this is a positive sign.

  • We are waiving our May 15th On-Time Payment Deadline this season. The “on-time” price of $435 per Scout will be honored for all Scouts so that families can make payments when it works for them.

  • Merit Badge Registration is still set to go live on May 15th for those Scouts that have paid in full. We will send out additional information concerning Merit Badge Registration soon.

  • As previously mentioned, if camp is cancelled, all Camper deposits and payments will be refunded back to the Unit. Also, additional COVID-19 related circumstances that prevent attendance at camp (coming into contact with someone who has tested positive or showing symptoms, etc.) will be entitled to full refund as well.

As we receive additional updates from Federal, State and Local authorities, we will share them. The health and safety of our Scouts, Leaders, Parents, their families and neighbors continues to be our paramount concerns.
