We keep hearing reports that so many of our members having found their way to a Peloton bike or to the Peloton app to exercise at home.  We have formed a TBE hashtag community on Peloton.  Please go to your profile on your bike and add the tag #TBEpeloton to your public profile.  Once our group is formed, we will send out announcements for group rides.  Follow your TBE friends and send some high fives!!  If you have any questions, reach out to Lisa Manheim at [email protected] or Scott Krowitz at [email protected].  We look forward to riding together.

NEED RECIPES FOR SISTERHOOD COOKBOOK!
We are close to our goal of 100 recipes for Sisterhood's new kosher cookbook celebrating TBE's 100th Anniversary, and we need your help!  There is room for 20 more recipes.  Email your original recipe or  this completed recipe form to Fran Ginsburg at  [email protected] or call her at 203-322-1324.  Please submit your recipes by July 15, 2020.  Thank you!!

The TBE 100 Mitzvah Project provides opportunities for congregants to honor TBE's centennial through the performance of gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness). Click here for mitzvah opportunities at the Schoke Jewish Family Service.

TBE TZEDEK INITIATIVE

Temple Beth El is forming the Tzedek (Justice) Committee under the leadership of Vice President of Social Action Dana Horowitz, to lead TBE's anti-racism efforts. We are committed, along with other Stamford-area churches, synagogues and community-service organizations in signing a "Call to Action: Stamford Stands Against Racism." You can read the Call to Action and see a current list of signatories (still being updated) by clicking here.
 
We invite all interested members to join the Tzedek Committee and to help us determine how we will combat racism in the greater Stamford community. Please contact incoming President Lisa Manheim at [email protected] if you wish to join the Tzedek Committee.

TBE is offering a package of supplies including five rolls of toilet paper, a two-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer, and two face masks to anyone who needs these items.  There is no charge although you are welcome to make a donation to TBE to help defray the costs at www.tinyurl.com/tbemasks

HELP STAMFORD HOSPITAL FRONTLINE WORKERS WITH NEEDED SUPPLIES
Thank you TBE members and friends who donated much needed supplies to Stamford hospital workers who can't go home or to a store.  Our donations are helping many essential workers on the frontline.

More supplies are needed and you can drop-off at the Tully Center between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Click here for items that are still needed and drop-off details. 
COMPLETE THE 2020 U.S. CENSUS
It is not too late for you to complete the 2020 U.S. Census for your household.  It is very important for everyone to be counted!  Results help determine how federal funding is disseminated to local communities.  You may complete the census by mail using the form you were sent by the government.  Or, you can complete by phone using this telephone number, 844-330-2020.  Or, you can complete online using this link,  www.2020census.gov.

B'NAI MITZVAH PROJECTS
B'nai Mitzvah students are engaged in Mitzvah Projects as part of their upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah.  

Alexander Cohen is teaching kids from the Boys and Girls Club how to create Google Slides.

Owen Herz is raising money and awareness for the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind.

Brandon Nadel is collecting children's books for local shelters in Stamford.  

Leah Raich is raising money to purchase baked goods from Beldotti Bakery to give to Stamford first responders.

Eli Schwartz is collecting video games and money to support Yale's Child Life Program which helps children to cope with the adjustments of being in a hospital by providing a variety of play experiences.
