2021 Golf School at To The Tee Golf Academy with Mary Beth Kohberger
Despite the chilly weather, a great day of of golf, learning and fun was experienced by attendees of our 2021 Golf School! Mary Beth Kohberger was a fantastic and thorough instructor, covering all aspects of the game, including mental, in the 3 hour lesson. She gave equal attention to all of the participants, joining them on the course for nine holes, spending time with both foursomes and helping them practice what they had learned.

Mary Beth has more than 30 years of experience teaching students of all skills levels, and we hope to work with her again at future events. Special thanks to Denise Gill and Fran Lapinski, who organized and coordinated this fantastic event.

 A Positive Mindset for Better Golf - June 5th - June 9th
What if you could play golf free from negative thoughts, emotions and beliefs? How would a round of golf or a day in your life be if you didn’t worry about what other people think, or stress over not being good enough, or feeling tense about making a mistake? Imagine how you will feel at the end of every round of golf if you absolutely stayed in a positive mindset. If that is a goal you strive for we are pleased to share this unique opportunity from LPGA Professional Debbie O’Connell with you.
Focus on Rules
Do you know this Rule Change?
Updated Bunker Topic:  Rule 12 and Relief Overview

Bunkers are one of the five defined areas of the course. Your ball lies in a bunker when any part of it touches the sand. So that the challenge of playing from the sand is preserved, there are a few things you are not permitted to do when your ball is in a bunker. These include testing the condition of the bunker, touching the sand right around your ball, and making a practice swing that touches the sand.

However, you can remove natural and artificial objects (loose impediments and movable obstructions) from the bunker since those are not considered part of the challenge of playing a ball from sand. In preparing to play from a bunker, you can set your clubs down in the bunker and rake the bunker to care for the course before playing, as long as you aren’t testing the bunker or improving the conditions for your next stroke.

You get free relief in a bunker when you have interference from an abnormal course condition (such as a drain or steps, temporary water, and ground under repair).

If you want to take relief for an unplayable lie, you have the three standard one penalty stroke relief options of stroke and distance, back-on-the-line between the ball and the hole, or lateral relief within two club-lengths, except that you must drop your ball in the bunker for options two and three.

Plus, you have an additional fourth option, this time for two penalty strokes, that allows you to get out of the bunker by going back-on-the line between the ball and the hole as far back as you’d like.
