Mask Mandate Will Continue Through 1/28
|
|
Just a reminder that the Pre-K through 6th-grade mask requirement has been extended through Friday, January 28.
This short nine-day extension will enable us to maintain existing procedures and give us an opportunity to monitor the current variant. Please be sure your child comes to school with a clean mask daily.
The District will still continue to be mask-friendly and strongly recommend the wearing of masks while in our school buildings.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Big Announcement from KHS Choir Department
|
|
The Kings High School Chamber Choir has been informed that their Carnegie Hall debut will be even more special than they originally imagined.
On March 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Choir will perform 7 songs with other high school choirs from around the nation with the National Youth Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Redding. But even better, they have been chosen, by audition, to be the Featured Choir at the 2022 Festival at Carnegie Hall Program.
As a Featured Choir, they will sing 3 songs under the baton of their conductor, Kings High School Choir Director, Hope Milthaler, all on their own on the Carnegie stage.
This is a wonderful distinction and prestigious honor to be a part of this event.
Congratulations, singers!

Social Emotional Health Update
|
|
Kings Social-Emotional Health Coordinator, Kim Sellers offers some mental health resources.
PIRC
For mental health crises or emergencies, patients and families are encouraged to contact their current mental health provider first. This allows the mental health provider, who knows your child best, to provide support and direction. If your child does not have a mental health provider, and they are experiencing a non-life-threatening mental health crisis, you are encouraged to contact the Psychiatric Intake Response Center (PIRC) at CCHMC 513.636.4124. The PIRC staff will help you to decide the most effective level of intervention for your child’s mental health crisis – which may include an urgent psychiatric assessment in the PIRC Bridge Clinic.
MRSS-Mobile Crisis Stabilization and Support
“What is MRSS?" Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS) is a comprehensive program available to youth ages 0 to 21 and their families. MRSS staff meet with youth and families in person wherever they are to provide intensive services to address emotional and/or behavioral issues that require intervention. Families can stay with MRSS for up to 60 days.
How to reach MRSS
Call (877) 695-6333 24 hours a day,
seven days a week.
Crisis Hotline (Warren County) and Text Line:
If you feel that you or a friend is in a crisis situation and/or fearful of hurting yourself or others and there isn’t a caring adult you can reach right away, please contact (877) 695-NEED (6333) or text 741741 and type 4HOPE. Please take this time to put these as contacts in your phone. These crisis lines are operated 24/7, so please call or text anytime you have questions or concerns, day or night.
New Path Pediatric Mental Health Urgent Care: The urgent care is open Monday - Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 5051 Duck Creek Road in Cincinnati. If you're unsure if the facility is the best option, you can call 513-527-3040.
