Patient Removal Tool


To help practices comply with their obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 and EU General Data Protection Regulation, FLEX has a useful patient removal tool that identifies patients with the following criteria:


  • Aged over 25
  • Added more than 10 years ago
  • With no Appointments, Tests, CL Exams, Dispenses, Orders or Receipts in the last 10 years


The link below explains how to use the tool, it is a two step process so it can be run initially to identify how many patients would be removed and then you can remove the data when you are ready. The process can take a long time depending on the size of your database!

Refraction Tab Colours


Make refraction tabs stand out by adding some colour to them!


The clinical sight examination record allows for up to 6 refractions to be entered, but refractions tabs all look the same so to help identify which tab you are viewing you can add a strip of colour!

eGOS Claim Deadlines

We thought it would be worth highlighting the claim deadlines, as laid out by NHS.


  • Six months for GOS1 and 6 forms
  • Three months for GOS3, 4 and 5 forms

There is a useful popular search that will identify claims that are unfinished, it can be found by navigating to:


Main Menu->Business Intelligence->Data Mining->Popular Searches


Change the 'Group' to 'Business Intelligence' and you will see 'eGOS England - Claims (unfinished)' in the list. We suggest checking regularly to avoid claims expiring.


Claims can also be written off, if you need help with this please drop an email to support@optinetuk.com or raise a ticket in the portal.

  • HPP indicates high priority patches that are downloaded and installed automatically
  • MTS indicates patches that have been deployed to the 'Hosted FLEX' servers
  • REQ indicates a patch that will be loaded on request or when an issue is highlighted
