April Zoom Training Schedule Now Available

LSU NCBRT/ACE has released the national enrollment schedule of its DHS-certified Zoom courses for April 2021. These courses are available to your agency or organization at no direct cost.

A FEMA Student ID is needed for registration. Find your FEMA SID here.

The following courses are available this month:

LSU NCBRT/ACE Begins Tribal Public Safety Dialogue Sessions
LSU NCBRT/ACE is excited to announce the first in a series of free and virtual public safety conversations for and with tribal emergency responders.
 
The first session, a conversation on vaccine distribution efforts among tribal communities, will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, April 13 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm CST.

CDP Virtual Tribal Training Available in April
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will host a series of virtual training courses in support of its Tribal Nations Training Plan from March 22 – April 30. This training will be provided by the CDP, partners of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium and the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium.

All personnel who work in an emergency response capacity and are affiliated with one or more Tribal Nations, Indian Health Service and those who work directly with Tribal Nations are authorized to participate. These trainings are available at no cost to your organization.

Note: Registration for a specific course will close at noon on the Wednesday of the week prior to that course's delivery date.

LSU NCBRT Preparedness Podcast
Beginning on April 6, The LSU NCBRT Preparedness Podcast will begin a new, four-part series on the history of emergency response in tribal nations.

LSU NCBRT/ACE subject matter experts Robert Holden and Steve Golubic explain the history of tribal nations in the US, tribal relations with the federal government, and the challenges of emergency response in tribal communities.

New Micro Modules Available
Micro Modules are brief, webinar-formatted presentations based on NCBRT course content. They may be used as review or refresher for users who have previously taken NCBRT training or serve as an introduction to topics for those who have not completed the related course.

Movement to Contact
The Movement to Contact micro module provides emergency responders an overview or refresher of key principles for team movement as they move to mitigate an active threat. This presentation looks at team sizes and configurations, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of a few common ones.

Direct Threat Care - Tourniquet Application
The purpose of this presentation is to remind Emergency Responders of key tourniquet application principles in a direct threat care environment.
