AHC Inc. Brings More Affordable Housing to Fairfax County 
AHC recently partnered with Insight Property Group to acquire a new 259-unit community in Fairfax County, Virginia, for $72 million. Purchasing Haven Reston (formerly known as Colvin Woods) helps AHC surpass the milestone of 1,100+ affordable homes in Fairfax County.

AHC Inc’s President & CEO expressed that “preserving the affordable housing in this beautiful woodland area, full of nearby amenities, is central to our mission of helping residents thrive.”  
AHC Greater Baltimore Selected for '22 Thome Aging Well Grant 
AHC-GB recently received a 2022 Thome Aging Well grant of $250,000 to treat substance abuse and adequately address the lack of access to healthcare amongst older minorities.

The 2022 Thome Aging Well grant will help provide essential support to 300+ AHC seniors to enhance wellbeing, reduce isolation, and allow them to age with dignity in their homes.
Students Start School Fresh After Amazon Back-to-School Shop
Nearly 500 students from 26 Virginia-based AHC properties recently participated in Amazon’s free Back-to-School Shop at Harvey Hall Apartments. Along with their parents, the AHC kids hand-picked their clothing, shoes, and school supplies to help them start the school year on an even playing field.

AHC Residents Receive Free Chromebooks at The Hamptons In Maryland
Montgomery County and Harbor Group Management partnered to give away over 275 free Chromebooks to AHC residents at The Hamptons in Maryland. Eligible families were also able to secure a free Wi-Fi voucher from Comcast. 

Due to the first event's success, AHC and Harbor Group are looking to expand the Chromebook giveaway to surrounding AHC communities in the coming weeks.

The VCE Financial Workshop hosted its first round of in-person sessions at Serrano.

Five residents attended the first session, and we look forward to hosting more in the future.
Make a Difference in the Life of a Child
Volunteer as a teen tutor or reading buddy during the 2022-23 school year. Volunteer opportunities are primarily in-person in Arlington.

AHC Welcomes New Vice President
We're excited to introduce Edie Loughlin, our new Vice President of Asset and Construction Management. In her new role, she will provide strategic and financial oversight of joint venture and third-party managed properties within AHC Inc.’s portfolio. As VP of Asset and Construction Management, she is the lead for acquisitions and dispositions of assets, including leading due diligence and closing processes.

Edie enjoys connecting with her family and mentoring at local schools in the heart of Baltimore in her spare time. She is excited to join an organization full of mission-driven people at AHC.
