Initial SPARK activities include healing circles, dialogues, learn-ins, plus:
  • Open spaces: Virtual spaces where participants can share, listen and reflect through forum-style engagement. Hosted the third Wednesday of each month at noon and 5 pm via Zoom. View details and RSVP here.
  • Book club: Co-sponsored with the Medical Center Graduate Student Organization’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee, this moderated group will meet every two weeks for a total of six meetings to discuss the selected title. View details and RSVP here.
Submissions Welcome for Third Annual Cura Conversations
This summer, staff, faculty and students are invited to share their voice and perspectives with the incoming School of Medicine Class of 2024 in the third annual Cura Conversations . The SOM Office of Diversity & Inclusion is seeking personal essays, reflections or poems from our community around identities that they care deeply about and/or navigating challenges related to identities at school, work or home during the era of COVID-19. This year, they especially welcome reflections on race/ethnicity and intersectional identity given the current national dialogue on racial justice. Selected entries will be featured online in booklet form. Please submit entries online by July 20. View previous years’ selections for more information. Please direct questions to Samuel Chan, ODI Strategy Coordinator, at sc1958@georgetown.edu .
