Remembering Teddy Balkind: Coping with Grief
Our thoughts are with the all of those who were impacted by the sudden passing of Teddy Balkind. Teddy tragically died in a hockey accident last weekend. As family, friends and the community grieve, we want to remind everyone that there are resources available to anyone struggling. Please see the flyers below.

Additionally, the following organizations offer bereavement support groups: Family Centers, Jewish Family Service and The Den for Grieving Kids. You can also find additional resources for youth 24/7 at Kids in Crisis (24-hour Helpline – 203-661-1911).
"Awkward Conversations" Video Series
Starting a conversation about drug use with your teens can be pretty uncomfortable. This can especially be true if you have history of drug use or experimenting in the past. You might wonder: how can I talk about the dangers of drug use without feeling like a hypocrite?

This issue, along with others, is tackled in a new three-part video series released by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Drug Enforcement Administration called Awkward Conversations. The videos focus on the awkward conversations parents and their kids have when talking about drug use. Each episode is followed by a discussion hosted by actress Jodie Sweetin.
