District News & Updates

Join the Fun After-School at Adventure Zone!
El Dorado Hills CSD's staff-led-after-school program will only operate if there's plenty of interest.

Local School Districts released their back-to-school plan last week, and the District hopes to assist families who are looking for a safe, caring, and enriching environment for their child(ren)s after-school care. Adventure Zone is slated to open on Monday, August 17, 2020 and will be operated by the El Dorado Hills CSD Recreation Department staff. Please note: this program can only operate if we have enough interest from the community.

A variety of age-appropriate, and integrated activities will be provided under the guidance of trained staff. Children will be encouraged to be actively participate so that they develop social skills and learn to make responsible choices within the program's structure. The District will be providing children with a variety of art, science, and outdoor activities as well as time for homework and fun.

Adventure Zone will also include use of a highly secure online emergency network called ePACT, which collects medical and emergency information for all participants, eliminating the use of paper forms. Using ePACT means staff will be better prepared to deal with any emergency, big or small as well as more accurate, up-to-date, and legible information over the paper forms we've used in the past.

Is there a schedule at Adventure Zone?
Yes, the weekly schedule will follow the timeline below, and scheduled activities are subject to change. Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm, and Wednesday 1:00pm to 6:00pm.

2020 Community Key Hut is Underway!
Safely Explore El Dorado Hills Parks

El Dorado Hills CSD and El Dorado Hills Rotary Club are
partnering to deliver a new event to get outside and safely explore CSD parks through our inaugural Community Key Hunt, starting this Saturday, August 1 through Thursday, August 6!

Keys will be hidden throughout select parks with a chance to unlock a Back-to-School prize basket. 600 keys will be hidden throughout the parks during the 6 day hunt, and we will post which parks have keys hidden in them each day. F or clues and LIVE updates follow us on Facebook and

As always, please follow social distancing guidelines while in El Dorado Hills parks, and wear a face covering when social distancing becomes a challenge. For more information or questions, email Recreation Supervisor, Kate Miller, at kmiller@edhcsd.org. Good luck!!

Keep a Safe Distance in Parks and on the NYC Trail
Thank you for practicing social distancing!

Have you taken the Bass Lake survey?

We Want to Hear From YOU!
Share your voice by ranking possible park amenities

Take two minutes to share what the most important park amenities at Bass Lake are to you, and your family. Bass Lake Regional Park will be serving El Dorado Hills and our neighboring communities for generations to come, so we're really looking for as much feedback as we can get. Please take the survey, and share the link!

Bass Lake Regional Park - Volunteer Project
Build a fence around the EID yard at Bass Lake with us.

We are seeking hardworking volunteers for a hands on project to fence a section of the property at Bass Lake Regional Park . This task is required to open a section of the park to the public. Under the direction of the EDHCSD Parks Staff, volunteers will be installing fencing. This includes hands on labor, including rolling out fencing and installation.

Splash Pads + Community Pool Update
While the pool is under construction, and our Splash Pads remain closed, we want to share our sincere apologies.

The District reviewed community input, considered new protocols with the goal of keeping our community safe at our Splash Pads, and made the difficult decision to keep Splash Pads closed this summer. We apologize for any discomfort this decision brings you or your family.

Community Pool Update:
  • All perimeter walls have completed the resurfacing process, which includes color coating, sealer and lane targets markings.
  • As of July 31st, the pool bottom is at 50% complete in the resurfacing process.

Remaining tasks include:

  •  Application of the remaining 50% of resurfacing process for the pool bottom and lane line markings.
  • Switching out all pool lights to custom LED lighting.
We are excited to report that we're still on target to complete by the end of August 2020, weather depending of course (too hot can interrupt or slow the process).
A Note to Poachers
Placing traps at Governors Pond is not allowed

Poaching is the illegal take of fish and wildlife. Poachers set traps at Governor's Pond, and trapped six fish last week. We want to send our sincere thanks to the resident who noticed the traps, and contacted us through Facebook Messenger. Our Parks staff arrived shortly after the report was made, and unfortunately, found the fish had not survived.

Placing traps in El Dorado Hills CSD Parks is not allowed.
