You’re invited to a MICROGRID SUMMIT!

Please come to the very first Microgrid Summit! Microgrids allow us to share electricity, and are a growing global trend in electricity generation and distribution. Experts will explain the wide appeal of microgrids, and what Colorado needs to do to move toward them from our current centralized grid . For more information, please go to i2i.org/microgrid-summit.

An example of the importance and relevance of microgrids can be found

in this article about the northern California power outages and wild fires.

Pacific Gas and Electric shut off power to over 725,000 customers during high winds this month, in order to prevent wild fires caused by transmission lines coming into contact with vegetation. Customers who were a part of a microgrid maintained electricity, and in some cases were able to share electricity with neighbors.

Sinton Instruments uses state-of the-art technology to measure and analyze solar panels like this one. CEA board members were treated to a tour last month by Ron and learned of the marvels of silicon.

Colorado Gives Day is Dec 10. 2019. Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Colorado Gives Day is Clean Energy Action's primary fundraising event.

We are a grassroots, citizen-powered nonprofit who make changes on the policy level for a clean and green energy economy.

MEET OUR BOARD

Board Chair, Molly May, recently finished her PhD in Physics at CU and was highlighted by the university for her research which aims to liberate quantum experiments from cold temperatures using optical antennas in the form of needle-like gold "tips". This ability to control quantum states of matter in ambient conditions could facilitate cheaper and more widely available quantum technologies. Read more of Dr. May’s research here . Dr. May will be taking a hiatus from CEA to work on new methods for deeper brain imaging in neuroscience in Innsbruck, Austria.
