November 2022

Dear Sangha,

As our bodies age in the golden wind, we can practice a more panoramic view and extend the nature of our bodies to that of the Absolute, or Totality. Consider breathing in earth, air, water--everything. Notice how we mirror each other. What is a mountain? What is water, or sky? Inhale total inclusivity. Exhale the brief and fleeting moment, like a breeze blowing through the clouds. Give your body/heart/mind permission to breathe the mystery that is – and is to come.

This breath returns us to our original name, which is Ahhhh. As in wonder.

We have a kong-an for this, naturally. And it goes, as follows: The 10,000 Dharmas return to the One. Where does the One return to?

Yours in the vast, phenomenal world,

Jeong Ji

Work Party

The Building and Grounds Committee sponsored a work party at our Zen center on Sunday 10/16. Eight people (Jordan, Debbie, Joanne, Greg, Eric W, Jim, Stephen, and Paul), and  worked for about two hours, primarily clearing blackberry vines and other brush and debris from the bank on the south side of the property. We completely filled Jim’s pickup truck and Jordan’s van with yard waste! It was a fun time, and productive. Thanks to everyone who participated! Stay tuned for the date next work party, which will likely occur in mid-November!

Dharma Dialogues

Eric Nord, JDPSN and Zen Master Jeong Ji are offering in-person Dharma Dialogues on occasional Sunday mornings during practice (to be determined on an ad hoc basis, depending on our availability).

If you cannot attend an in-person Dharma Dialogue, we encourage you to contact Eric Poep Sa or Jeong Ji Soen Sa directly for online Dharma Dialogues so that we can set up a mutually agreed upon time.

Our Senior Dharma Teachers are offering Online Dharma Dialogues if you would like to discuss your practice and any questions you may have. Please get in touch with them individually to schedule an appointment if you would like a one-on-one Zoom meeting.

Our Online Altar

We invite you to register a name of a loved one who is currently suffering for our Kwan Seum Bosal Chanting, or for Ji Jang Bosal Chanting, for a loved one who has recently died. We will recite these names when we do special chanting.

Looking Forward
