Visit High Point Announces ServSafe Classes
Thursday, April 14th | Thursday, June 9th | Thursday, August 18th
Thursday, October 13th | Thursday, December 8th
As a part of the Partners of Excellence Program and to ensure safety comes first, Visit High Point is partnering with Raise-the-Grade® to host five ServSafe® classes and exams during 2022. These classes will be held from 8:30am-5pm at the Visitors Center and are designed to teach individuals how to manage food safety within retail food service operation. Registration is limited, so please register early.

Cork & Grind's January Update
Beginning this month, Cork & Grind will be starting the process of moving locations! As of right now they will be suspending wine club until they move into the new location, but they will be open normal business hours. Stay up-to-date by following them on Facebook.

High Point University's Ice Skating Rink Open To The Public
Through January 9th
Are you ready for some ice, ice baby? The High Point University Ice Rink is open to members of the community and their immediate family members through January 9th. Complimentary ice skates are available in children and adult sizes!

Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce, through the It's Our Shot High Point Campaign, is hosting a Guilford County Public Health Mobile Station for Chamber members. Both Pfizer and Moderna first, second and booster shots are available. For questions, please contact Brian Norris with BHP Chamber.

Guilford County Needs Your Input On Broadband Internet
Deadline For Survey: January 14th
Guilford County is working to identify who has access to broadband internet and digital devices and who does not. They are asking you to attend a meeting and/or take the online surveys, as this will help the County develop a strategy to assist communities where access or service is lacking or too expensive. This Broadband Study is part of Guilford County's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding allocation efforts.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade

Begins: Green Street | Ends: Montlieu Avenue
The Carl Chavis Y is hosting the 2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade! The Parade will be held on Main Street beginning at Green Street and will end at Montlieu Avenue. Please call the Y at 336-434-4000 for entry information.

Business Recovery Grant Program
Deadline To Apply: January 31, 2022
The Business Recovery Grant Program (BRG) will issue a one-time payment to eligible North Carolina businesses that experienced significant economic loss due to COVID-19. Two types of grants will be available to eligible businesses that suffered an economic loss of at least 20% during the pandemic.
Hospitality Grant: available to eligible arts, entertainment and recreation businesses, as well as eligible accommodation or food service business such as a hotel, restaurant and bar (NAICS Codes 71 and 72).
Reimbursement Grant: available to eligible businesses who are not classified in NAICS Code 71 and 72, and businesses who did not receive funding from other relief programs including: Paycheck Protection Program, COVID-19 Job Retention Grant, and EIDL Advance.

Ziggy's To Re-Open In High Point
Starting: April 1st
The long-running live music venue Ziggy's will re-open in the Cohab Space, west of downtown High Point, this April! High Point was chosen for the rebirth of the business because owner Jay Stephens likes the direction of the city and the potential of Cohab Space. Ziggy's will debut with a concert on April 1st by Acoustic Syndicate with guests Flat Tire Trip. On April 2nd, the venue will host Mean Street - a Van Halen tribute act - with guests Chasing Broncos. The first shows will coincide with the opening of the spring High Point Market scheduled for April 2nd-6th.

Theatre Art Galleries Relocating To Congdon Yards
The new year is bringing new and exciting changes for Theatre Art Galleries! TAG will move to a new 10,000 square foot space in Congdon Yards. Half of the footage will be dedicated to gallery and exhibition space, with the other half dedicated to classrooms. One new component will be a retail gift shop which will carry items not currently available in High Point, including work from high end artisans, art books and supplies, and unique gift items.
