IN-PERSON WORSHIP

Sunday worship services are held in our sanctuary at 9am and 11am. You can prepare for worship by reading Ephesians 5:1-20 and listening to the setlist on Spotify!

Masks are optional. There is a marked "masks required" section in the front right of the sanctuary for those who don't wish to sit with unmasked attendees.

ONLINE WORSHIP

You can join us virtually via our live-streamed service at 9am on YouTube or Facebook, or watch the service on either platform later!

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Newborn-Preschool: Class is available during both services. Upon drop-off, parents/guardians and children receive wristbands with matching numbers. Parents supply their wristband to pick up their child at the conclusion of the service.

Grades 6-12: All youth will begin in the sanctuary for worship with their parent/guardian and will be dismissed to the Large Youth Room after the Congregational Prayer.

Note: Children in grades K-5 will stay in the service this week!

CONNECT WITH THE CÓRDOVAS

The Córdova family (Jen, Jona, Sara and Daniel) is hosting a meet and greet on Sunday, November 6 in the Sanctuary! The Córdovas serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Oaxaca, Mexico. Feel free to come and mingle between 3-5pm and join us for a presentation at 3:30pm. You'll hear about Bible translation among the Zapotec people, highlights from the last few years, and what daily life has been like for the Córdovas. You'll also have a chance to learn how you can be a part of making God's Word available to the Zapotecs!

YOUTH OUTDOOR PARTY

All youth are invited to join us for our fall Outdoor Party on Saturday, November 12, 6-9pm. Our party will be held at the Brotherton's home. We will play some of our favorite outdoor games, make a craft and have s'mores by the campfire. We're asking each youth to bring a food item to contribute. Chili is a part of the sign-up so there will be enough food to be your dinner! Sign up here to let us know what you plan to bring.

Weather depending, plan to bring a winter jacket, gloves and hat. You could even bring a blanket to have while sitting by the fire. For those who would like to participate in our craft, there will be gift card prizes for the competition winners!

WELCOME LUNCHEON

All those who began attending HBIC sometime in the last 3 years (since Fall 2019) are invited to join the church staff for a soup & salad Welcome Luncheon on Sunday, November 13, following the 11 am service in the CE Room. We'll enjoy both good food and time to get to know one another better. We hope you'll plan to join us. If you're able to attend, please be sure to sign up by Wednesday, November 9, either online or at one of the info desks at the back of the sanctuary. For questions, contact Pastor Lynda.

YOUNG ADULT "FRIENDSGIVING"

All young adults are welcome to join us for a "Friendsgiving" celebration on Saturday, November 19 at 4:30pm. We will celebrate an evening of food and fellowship hosted by Cait and Aidan Lewis! We are requesting that everyone bring an item to contribute. Please sign up to let us know what you plan to bring. Registrants will be sent the Lewis' address closer to the date.

MISSIONS SUNDAY

On Sunday, November 6 we will celebrate our annual Missions Sunday. We hope you'll plan to join us, either in person or online, for this special service! Ben and Eunice Stoner, BIC World Missions global workers in New Mexico, will be with us to share the morning's message. We're looking forward to the Stoners inspiration and challenge growing out of their decades of service among Navajo people! We hope you won't miss it!

And each year on Missions Sunday, we take a special Missions Offering, which is used primarily to provide a love gift to all of the missionaries sent out from our church, with a small portion given to BIC World Missions. Our Offering Goal for this year is $12,000 or more. It will take many gifts, both large and small, to reach this goal. Each of us is encouraged to ask God for direction in what we are to share in order to support and bless our missionaries this year. You can give your Missions Offering in person at our services on November 6, or you can give online or mail a check to the church (marked for Missions Offering) anytime between now and the last Sunday in November.

ROOTED SERIES

As we look to the future at HBIC, it's important for us all to make sure we are centered and rooted in who we are and the mission God is inviting us to here in Harrisburg. So, we invite you to join us for "Rooted", a new 4-week opportunity to do just that. Rooted is a great opportunity for folks who have been around a while to refresh themselves on HBIC's history and core values and an equally great opportunity for newer folks to get acquainted with these for the first time, and learn more about how to plug in at HBIC.

We are offering two options for this series: In person during our 11am Sunday services upstairs starting November 6 and Tuesdays at 7pm on Zoom starting November 8. Spaces are limited, so we do ask that you please sign up online or at the info desks in the sanctuary. We will be running Rooted again in January and beyond, so you will have more opportunities to participate!

Moving forward, Rooted will be a part of our membership process, but it is not just for new members. It's for everyone who calls HBIC home, and will be a great time of fellowship and refreshing!

THANKSGIVING MEAL KITS

Each year, we supply kits for Thanksgiving meals to members of our community.

Volunteers are needed to pack the kits on Friday, November 18 and distribute the kits on Saturday, November 19. Sign up here or at the info desks in the Sanctuary if you can help!

Registration to receive a kit opens on November 2. Call the church office or visit our website to reserve a kit. Spots will fill up quickly!

GROCERY GIFT CARDS

Did you know that you can purchase gift cards for Giant, Weis and Karns through HBIC and we get 5% of the value of the card? Contact the church office to order if you're interested and we will arrange a pick-up time with you!
