Let Us Worship Together
Join us for a Facebook Live Worship experience. We will share Psalm 100 -- Make a joyful noise! Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving. God’s steadfast love endures forever. We will also focus on Matthew 25:31-46 where Jesus tells the story about caring for people who are hungry, thirsty, cold, ill, imprisoned, estranged… What do we do with our blessings? What do we do because of our blessings? How can we become more of a blessing to others?

We will receive the annual Thanksgiving Offering for ECH – everychildshope.org
If you haven’t had the opportunity to send in a financial pledge for our mission and ministry 2021, please consider doing so today. Thank you.

Scouting for Food – the annual food drive that occurs in November when young scouts tie a bag around your front door one Saturday and then come to pick up your generous donations of non-perishable food items the following Saturday has been canceled this year. One way they are keeping their commitment to hungry people in our area is by encouraging you to send a financial contribution instead. Their promotional materials say that $1 = 4 meals. Please consider texting ‘scoutfood’ to 91999 today.
Circle of Concern
Parkway UCC well exceeded our goal in preparing 100 boxes to be part of Circle of Concern’s Thanksgiving handout. Only four churches in the West County area participated in providing the boxes for our 750 client families. We should be so proud! The staff of Circle joins me in expressing our sincere gratitude for your efforts. Even though we are unable to physically come together to worship as one, we are still very much connected to each other and also to our brothers and sisters in need. Blessings to all this Holiday season! Lana Biondo

Inspiration

To become fully human means learning to turn my gratitude for being alive into some concrete common good. It means growing gentler toward human weakness. It means practicing forgiveness of my and everyone else’s hourly failures to live up to divine standards. It means learning to forget myself on a regular basis in order to attend to the other selves in my vicinity. It means living so that “I’m only human” does not become an excuse for anything. It means receiving the human condition as blessing and not curse, in all its achingly frail and redemptive reality. “The glory of God is a human being fully alive,” wrote Irenaeus of Lyons some two thousand years ago. One of the reasons I remain a Christian-in-progress is the peculiar Christian insistence that God is revealed in humankind—not just in human form but also in human being.
