Three Kings Family Service – January 9 at 9 a.m. | Cathedral Park
|
|
The Epiphany of Our Lord is the feast observed on January 6. It is the time that we remember the visitation of the men from the East who sought the child, Jesus. These men are often referred to as kings or wise men. They are thought to have been men who studied the stars who recognized a new, different star that appeared in the night sky. It was so special that they thought it must be leading them to a king.
As they followed the star, they stopped in Jerusalem to seek the counsel of King Herod who would surely know of the birth of a future king. After consulting with his own wise men, Herod sent the visitors on to find the child. It is a familiar story and one that we will tell again at our family service this Sunday, January 9. Following the service, you are invited to move into Taliaferro Hall to celebrate the day with special snacks and crafts.
All are welcome to attend this outdoor service.

HabiJax
In December of last year, members of St. John’s Cathedral, St. Mark’s, and Church of Our Savior along with HabiJax volunteers enjoyed a beautiful day together. We did yard work, preparing the ground for sod then laid sod. It was a great day of doing God’s work and getting to know one another better.
GET READY – we will gather for a HabiJax Workday on Saturday, January 15, 2022. No equipment or expertise is required – just a servant’s heart and a smile!
Remember to dress appropriately. If you have favorite gloves, bring them but no worries if you don’t, HabiJax will provide gloves and equipment!
