Robert Klein Gallery presents Cig Harvey - Eat Flowers. In this exhibit, the photography of Cig Harvey focuses almost completely on flowers. Harvey wrote that she "[wants her] photos to be sensory," and with only a quick glance it is clear that the emotion and presence of each piece is palpable. The UMass Amherst Fine Arts Center presents New Generation Abstraction: LG Talbot. This exhibit features the abstract work of LG Talbot which takes on the genre of American abstract painting through large and bold paintings that "convey a distillation of lived experience," according to the artist in their statement. A reception and artist talk will be held on November 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. The gallery is open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Newport Art Museum presents Robert Stengel: Moments of Joy, which features the work of utsider artist Robert Stengel, whose work consists of found maps overlayed with colorful, hand painted dots. Stengel takes the precise lines used to create a map, which are meticulously measured and plotted out and juxtaposes them against messy, smudged circles to create a eye-catching mix of polar opposites. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. The Newport Art Museum is located at 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI. Capturing scenes of the landscape and everyday life, American Realism Today celebrates the rich tradition of Realist art in America while reflecting the innovative spirit of our contemporary times.
Curated by acclaimed artist Neil Jenney, the exhibition encompasses more than 50 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by a network of 21 artists working across generations.

From November 2 - 27, Bromfield Gallery presents “Photo-Synthesis” by Daniel Feldman, multi-segment works exploring the implications of combined, juxtaposed and sometimes clashing visual spaces; and “Mutualism” by Cynthia Roberts, paintings and drawings, using washes of saturated color, which reveal the interdependence of non-human life forms. The opening reception is Friday, November 4, from 6-8 pm.
