Cover Story: Celebrating closing of season with crabs and company

Last Saturday, we celebrated the winding down of yet another successful boating season with slipholders and valued customers through the holding of our annual slipholder appreciation party, crab feast and potluck-style cookout. As one of many time-honored traditions here at Haven Harbour, the event is our way to give thanks to those who make our marinas and full-service yachting centers a reality, year after year.

We estimate that nearly 600 attendees showed throughout the evening, enjoying the company of one another, live music, beer and the delicious crabs that were steamed right on-site courtesy of our friends at Good Times Seafood Catering in St. Micheals, Md.

"What a treat it was to see so many slipholders and employees enjoying crabs on the last Saturday of summer," said Managing Director Charlie Petosa. "I especially enjoyed seeing everyone’s smiling faces, and no masks! We are so thankful for our incredible clients and employees, and look forward to continuing this long tradition of celebrating them."

Precautionary Measure: Reserve a spot on our hurricane haul-out list

As we draw deeper into the season of storm probability, consider reserving your spot on our hurricane haul-out list (if you have not done so already). As a slipholder of Haven Harbour Marina or Haven Harbour South, there is no fee or charge to be placed on our emergency hurricane haul-out list. You may have your vessel added at any time by sending us an email request to [email protected], or by visiting our marine store and office locations.

In the case of a hurricane, the haul-out list will be activated and vessels will be placed on land according to their order of sign-up date. Those who wait to sign-up for the list during the onset of a potential storm may risk not being hauled in time.
