Say hello to Bryan's newest park: Edgewater Park
Edgewater Park is the city's newest neighborhood park, located between the Autumn Lake and Edgewater subdivisions in western Bryan. The park is almost 10 acres and features two play structures, swings, a covered picnic area, bathrooms, outdoor exercise equipment, a basketball court, and two paved walking paths. It is one of Bryan's more than 50 neighborhood parks that are great for outdoor recreation.
Unofficial results for local elections
The City of Bryan will have two new City Council members, once the unofficial results from this year's election are certified.

Additionally, unofficial results indicate that all seven of the city's proposed charter amendments were approved by voters.

Public invited to hamburger fundraiser for United Way
Have lunch plans on Nov. 13? Now you do! Head to the Brazos Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to enjoy a drive-through hamburger lunch, with proceeds benefitting the United Way of the Brazos Valley.

Free rabies vaccines, microchips available on Nov. 14
The Bryan Animal Center is giving away 100 free rabies vaccines and 100 microchips on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sadie Thomas Memorial Park. All animals who reside in the City of Bryan are eligible. No reservations are required

10 things you may not know about the Bryan Animal Center
This week is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, and we're spotlighting the great work done by the staff of the Bryan Animal Center. The city's Animal Services staff takes in hundreds of animals each year, ensuring each one is cared for until they find a forever home.
City Secretary honored with statewide award
Bryan City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta was recently honored by the Texas Municipal Clerks Association with the 2020 Distinguished Service Award. This award is given in appreciation for the significant career-long contributions made to promote the municipal clerk profession and TMCA. Stratta has worked for the City of Bryan for almost 30 years and has given back to the city and other municipal clerks nationwide for many years.
Updated landscaping regulations will improve visual
appeal of developments
New developments in Bryan will be more visually appealing in the future, thanks to recently approved updates to the city's landscaping codes that went into effect on Nov. 1. These changes will protect and preserve older, larger trees, prevent the planting of invasive species and ensure better screening standards in parking lots.

CDAC public hearing scheduled for Nov. 19
Members of the public are invited to attend a public hearing for the Community Development Block Grant CARES program. The city will be receiving an additional $603,226 in funding for eligible activities in the community to assist with the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is seeking comment on community needs related to the pandemic.
