Updated Guidance for Face Coverings
On July 7 Contra Costa County updated its health order about when and where members of the public should wear face coverings during the COVID-19 pandemic to align it with current state guidance.

Local data indicate that COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in Contra Costa County. The county is currently on the California Department of Public Health's monitoring list because of increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients in local hospitals.

As of July 8, the County has 4,241 known cases, with 494 positive cases in Concord. To review a demographic and geographic breakdown of cases, please see the County's COVID-19 dashboard.

The updated order specifies that face coverings should be worn in businesses and in areas where people wait in line to enter businesses, and that everyone should wear a mask or face covering whenever they are within six feet of another person who is not a member of their household, except in very limited, industry-specific situations.

People who have certain health conditions are exempt from wearing masks that fit snugly over the mouth and nose but must instead wear plastic face shields with cloth draping beneath to contain coughs and sneezes.

The order also requires businesses that are open during the pandemic to ensure their workers and volunteers wear face coverings, and to not serve or allow entry to anyone not wearing face coverings.

For more information, please visit the County website. Residents can also call the Contra Costa County Coronavirus Call Center at (844) 729-8410 daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participate in Virtual Public Meetings
Would you like to provide a public comment at an upcoming City Council meeting? We understand there has been some confusion about how to do this since public meetings went "virtual" in the era of COVID-19.

There are now three ways you can participate:
  1. Submit your comments via email to cityclerk@cityofconcord.org, and the comments will be sent to all Councilmembers and posted on the City's website.
  2. Submit your comments via email to cityclerk@cityofconcord.org when the agenda item you wish to speak on is up for discussion and request that City staff read your comment aloud into the record.
  3. Participate in the Council meeting through the Zoom webinar platform and provide your own comments (limit 3 minutes) when that agenda item is up for discussion.

Please find all of details and the consistent Zoom link/log-in credentials on our Public Meetings web page.
Help for Local Jobseekers
