See how God is working through The Barnabas Group!
Dr. Mark Williams teaching Discipleship with Jesus
God at Work
Mark Williams, Barnabas Group member, registered for a mission trip with Reaching the Hungry (RtH) and a beautiful partnership was sealed!  Each trip is different, because each team is unique. Mark is a gifted teacher so the trip’s itinerary was crafted to take advantage of Mark’s teaching gift and his passion for discipleship.

A water well installation is often a highlight of our trips. The sight of clean water is always met with cheers, singing and dancing. And the villagers are usually eager to attend the Jesus Film showing in the evening, where they hear about, “This Jesus, the reason these Americans would come so far to bless us."

Mark shared the Gospel after the Jesus Film and the response was so encouraging! The highlight of this trip however was the many people that were trained using the Word of God. Dr. Mark Williams, along with Pastor Carlos Sales (Founder of RtH), were able to train…

  • 118 in House Church Planting,
  • 103 in Discipleship Journey’s with Jesus (DJJ) material,
  • 24 completed the DJJ Trainer Training, and
  • 57 Chiefs attended a day of Bible Study.

Prior to the trip, one-quarter of Mark’s Discipleship Journey’s with Jesus material was translated into Chichewa (Malawi’s native language) and prepared for the workshops. Reaching the Hungry is now using this material to disciple over 5,000 of the people they have in Bible Study Groups all over Malawi, Africa! As with all of our Malawi trips, we wrapped up with a debriefing/2-day amazing safari before boarding an airplane home!
