November Calendar Update - as of 11/16/20:

  • The Bridge Field Trip to Main Street Theater on 12/15 has been CANCELLED.
School pictures went home last week. Did you know this is one of the fundraisers we do to buy new supplies and furnishings for our classrooms? Please return money and any pictures not being purchased back to the school in your child's backpack by Friday, November 20th. Thank you!

Due to Copyright infringement issues, we will NO LONGER be able to livestream this event. Please read the document above for detailed information and our proposed alternative.
We have updated our Pandemic Plan to coincide with new regulations set forth by the TEA/CDC. The correction is on page 6, under "ACTIONS TO TAKE IF A CHILD, STAFF, OR PARENT TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 BUT DO NOT HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS". The time period for isolation to discontinue has been changed from 7 days to 10 days.
St. John is providing Advent Boxes for our ECC families. This is a box filled with activities to do as a family to countdown to Chirstmas! They are available starting Thursday, 11/19. You may request one in the drop-off/pick-up line - while supplies last!

Amy Dean started with our staff in 2017 as a teacher assistant and accepted a teaching position in 2020. With four children of her own, she has developed creative ways of teaching new concepts to 3 year olds. Amy, thank you for always giving your heart, your talent, and your energy to the children in your class!

Reagan starting working for St. John ECC in 2016. She has taught in Summer School and Stay 'N' Play until this past year when she was offered an assistant position in the 3s classroom. The children love to interact with Reagan! She makes learning fun. She truly loves the children in her care. Thank you, Reagan, for all you bring to your classroom!


Mrs. Becky Tarnowski

Becky has been a teacher in our 3 year old classroom for 14 years! She's had the priviledge of bringing her granddaughters to school with her for the last 5 years. Her heart belongs to Jesus and to the children in her classroom and it shows! Ms. Becky, thank you for bringing the love of Jesus into everything you do!

Ms. Sarah Mendonca
Teacher Assistant - Room 8

Sarah also started working for St. John ECC in 2017. She started as an assistant in our Stay 'N' Play program and then transistioned into the classroom with Ms. Becky in 2018. Sarah has 2 sons that have attended our program as well, so she knows all about child development and how to relate to children at their level. She has a sweet spirit and is an asset to our staff. Thank you, Sarah!
CURRENT EVENTS:
Parents, as a reminder, the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays are just around the corner and St. John ECC will be closed from Nov. 23 - 27, and also from Dec. 21 - Jan. 1. If you need childcare during that time, please refer to the babysitting list (see above). Another name to add to your list is Emma Kolodziejcyk, and she can be reached at 713-876-6789 or ekolo0708@gmail.com. Emma is a college student looking for a seasonal job. She is a member of St. John Lutheran Church and has been involved in the church nursery and VBS for many years. She is a very sweet and responsible young lady. If you have any questions, contact the school.
REMINDERS:

We appreciate your cooperation with St. John ECC in keeping any child(ren) home if they, or anyone in your household, is exhibiting any of the following symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chills/ Shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain or aches
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting or nausea
  • Known close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19
If a child is in our care with symptoms, it may be necessary to close the classroom until test results can be obtained. Positive results will require a quarantine period for all children and staff associated with that classroom.
