| The Safety Circuit Rider Program Selects the Counties for 2016/2017 |

The Technology Transfer Program's Safety Circuit Rider Program has selected the following counties for 2016/2017: Anderson County, Clark County, Crittenden County, Greenup County, Perry County, and Russell County.
The Safety Circuit Rider Program is operated by the Kentucky Transportation Center's Technology Transfer Program at the University of Kentucky. This program is designed to provide safety-related information, training, and support to agencies responsible for local roadway safety. The counties are receiving assistance on identifying and solving problems on those county roads identified with the highest number of crashes.

New Online Registration System

Information was listed in the last Newsflash about our new registration system. We thought a few hints and tips would be helpful.
- Course dates will no longer show up on the individual course pages. To view a list of course dates, click the Event Calendar or Register Here on the course page.
- Once in the new system, you can find a course through the Search feature or the Calendar feature. The Search feature also offers you the chance to search by the specific course or program.
- To register for a course online, you must have an online account.
- A participant can only register themselves for a course. They cannot register a third party.
- Once you make an online account, you will be able to see your schedule and class history.
- You will receive an email that we have received your registration once you complete the online registration. However, you will receive an official confirmation letter via email or regular mail about two weeks prior to the course. This letter will include additional information about the course as well as directions.

More than 400 Americans die from unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Winter can be a prime time for carbon monoxide poisoning as people turn on their heating systems and warm their cars in garages.
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that often goes undetected, striking victims off guard or in their sleep. Exposure to carbon monoxide can result in permanent neurological damage or death.

Principles and Practices for Enhanced Maintenance Management Systems

Join us for a blended training course that features both independent study material and facilitated Web-conferences. You will be introduced to the methods and practices used in an enhanced maintenance management system (MMS) to effectively maintain and operate a highway network. You will explore the principles and practices of using MMS to effectively examine efficient maintenance and operation of a highway network. Throughout the course, you will learn by participating in activities and assignments specific to using MMS.
The course is specifically for individuals who are responsible for directing and managing maintenance operations and budgets, maintenance projects and treatment selection, and the monitoring of system conditions.
