COVID-19 Update June 9, 2020
We've missed you!
We've missed you and are so excited to see you soon!

We are excited to announce that the Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA is planning to open the doors on Wednesday, June 17 at 12 noon . We will be opening our spaces in a phased approach so the Y might look a bit different initially. You can expect more information on our phased approach and what to expect when you visit, later this week.

We're so happy to welcome you back soon. Together, we're a better us.
Staying Safe at the YMCA
Be assured that your safety is our number one priority.

We have put careful thought and planning into our reopening. We have followed guidance from the CDC, Y of the USA, local health agencies and public officials to update our policies, practices, and procedures. We have created systems to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene and have made appropriate accommodations for physical(social) distancing. We want every person who walks through our doors to feel safe and protected while getting back to what matters most: your health, your family and friends, and your community.

See you soon!
Local Support
We are so thankful to the community of Fergus Falls and surrounding area. Our members and donors have been so generous with their support. Without that support, we would not have been able to serve the community as we have been.

The Fergus Falls YMCA is also a recipient of the West Central Initiative Foundation's COVID-19 Resiliency Fund grant. Through this grant, the YMCA is able to put funds towards maintaining the facility's rigorous cleaning protocol, especially for the Alternative Summer Day Camp program.
Teaser: What to expect
The Y will look differently when we reopen. Later this week, we will send out more detailed information on what to expect in phase 1. Until then, here is a teaser!

  • Increased access to hand sanitizer and equipment cleaner
  • Plexiglass at the front desk
  • Staff will be wearing face coverings and members are encouraged to wear face coverings (not when working out)
  • Reduced capacity to allow for physical distancing
  • More space in between exercise equipment
  • Reduced hours to allow for thorough cleaning and sanitizing
  • Phased approach for opening various spaces and programs

We care about you and your health. We know many of these changes will feel different at first but bear with us as we work together to
keep our community safe and healthy!

Monthly Membership Drafts
We will continue to run our monthly membership drafts in hope that you choose to continue your support for the YMCA. Because of member and donor support, we have been able to serve the community in many different ways including providing child care to essential employees.

We understand that it isn't always possible to continue to support the organization during such challenging times. If this is the case, please consider placing your membership on hold. Follow the LINK to our website and you will find a form to place the membership on hold. If you have any questions, please call the Y at 218-739-4489.
