considerationAcademic Consideration - Tips and Additional Support

We know that extenuating circumstances can happen at any time which could impact your academic performance. The Academic Consideration team is here to help if you are dealing with a short-term situation that is beyond your control. Check out the following tips, which may prove useful to you as we approach a busy exam season!
  • Remember that students must apply for Academic Consideration as soon as the need becomes apparent. 3-day requests for Academic Consideration must be submitted no later than 24 hours after a brief absence (ex: If you need Academic Consideration from December 1st - 3rd, you have until December 4th to submit).
  • Did you know you can apply even if you don't have your supporting documentation yet? For 3 day requests: All students have access to one 3-day request for Academic Consideration per term that does not require documentation. Remember that this request cannot be used during the final exam period. For 4-day to 3-month requests: Simply select "documentation not available" in the Portal. Students have 5 business days to submit supporting documentation.
  • NEW! Not sure where to start when applying for Academic Consideration, or if your situation qualifies? Our team will be offering Office Hours at the following times to support you: Mondays from 2:30 - 3:30pm, Wednesdays from 1:30 - 2:30pm, and Fridays from 9:00 - 10:00am.Simply call 613-533-2470 and select option 4 to speak with a staff member about accessing the Academic Consideration Team. This service will begin on Monday, November 23rd, 2020.
Remember that requests for Academic Consideration must be submitted via the Academic Consideration Request Portal (ACRP).

If you have further questions about Academic Consideration, please see our Definitions and FAQ pages. Our team can also be reached at [email protected].
