What Factors Influence First Generation Student-Athlete Retention?

Composite data from colleges/universities shows that first-generation students, generally, are more likely to drop out of school compared to their non-first-generation peers. How does the national data compare to first-generation NAIA student-athletes? Are there factors that influence first-generation NAIA student-athlete success?

Eligibility
NEW: Submitting Summer Transcripts

Students enrolled in classes this summer will be required to submit final summer grades beginning September 1, 2022, in order to receive an eligibility decision. Students with summer 2022 enrollment who do not submit transcripts complete through summer 2022 will not be placed in line for review.

NEW: InCred Evaluations for Eligibility

All students who graduate high school outside of the U.S. are required to submit their international academic records through InCred to be evaluated. The type of evaluation (Basic High School or Course-By-Course) will differ depending on the student’s academic history. The eligibility center can begin working on a student’s review prior to receiving a usable final InCed evaluation, but cannot post an eligibility decision until received.

If your student has already received an evaluation, but it does not appear on the PlayNAIA account, please verify that the student provided InCred with their ECID#. Please note, the eligibility center does not have access to pair InCred evaluations, so please contact InCred for these inquiries.
