As we remain in Phase 2, Step 2 of recovery, please note the following changes to the Clay County Public Health Emergency Order, which will go into effect
June 16. You can find the
full document attached and also find detailed info and guidance at
clayhealth.com/recovery.
All parts of Public Health Emergency Order Amended 05312020 dated May 31st, 2020, remain in place with the following exceptions:
- All business and organizations, occupancy restrictions are relaxed to 50% of the entity’s authorized building/fire code occupancy.
- Gatherings including but not limited to, religious services, weddings, funerals of 50% of listed occupancy may continue provided physical distancing is maintained.
- Relaxing the maximum allowable attendance at mass gatherings to 250 provided physical distancing is maintained.
- Public/Neighborhood Association Pools are limited to 50% of the bather load within the pool enclosure
and is set to begin 12:01 A.M., June 16th, 2020 and set to expire on 12:01 P.M., Sunday, July 5, 2020.

Member Announcements & Events

At the time of the COVID-19 stay at home order we were in the beginning stages of appointing and organizing the Nominating Committee. The Executive Committee made the decision to put nominations on hold as we didn’t feel it appropriate to ask anyone to consider a board roll when change was ever constant and members were fighting for their business and personal safety. Thankfully, the three directors who were due to complete their terms in April, agreed to extend their position in the interim. Now that the economy has reopened and restrictions are beginning to relax we are ready to move forward in the relentless pursuit of a vibrant and prosperous business community thru new board leadership.
Executive Committee
The Board of Directors met in person (while social distancing) for the June 23 Board Meeting. During this meeting, the Board elected new officers. I am pleased to present to you the new Kearney Chamber Executive Committee:

will continue on the board as Immediate Past President. We are grateful to our outgoing officers

. The leadership these two ladies demonstrated was exemplary and set the tone for the future of the chamber.

Three amazing Kearney Chamber Board Members are finishing up their terms at the end of the July:

. We are grateful for all they brought to the board table; their dedicated leadership and service will be deeply missed.
Although they are leaving the board they don't get off that easy, we will definitely be tapping into their knowledge and skills moving forward.
Board Elections
It is our hope and plan to make Wednesday, August 5th our next full Membership Luncheon (watch for location details). We are making plans for a safe and socially distant event. Our guest speaker,
Dr. Matthew Miller
, Incoming KSD Superintendent, will share his entry plan as-well-as insights on the pandemic.
At this meeting, per our by-laws, the Nominating Committee will present a slate of nominees for Directors to the general membership for vote. We have three seats open and three candidates the Nominating Committee is presenting for election. This slate of candidates includes:

Nominating Committee
Each year the Board President appoints a committee of at least three people, known as the Nominating Committee, to present a slate of nominees for Directors to the general membership. the Nominating Committee is comprised of one person from each standing committee, who is not a Board member. This years committee members were
