Risk Reduction Tip: Multiple Offer Situations
Listing agents: Remember all directives come from the seller. Set these expectations in advance and list those in the agent-to-agent remarks in the MLS.
  • If using Showing Time to communicate with other agents, please note this in the agent-to-agent remarks.
  • If using Showing Time, remember to turn on notifications and use the Showing Time notifications to communicate with all agents that have shown or will be showing the property.
  • Be sure to update the showing instructions and agent-to-agent remarks when there is a deadline (i.e., the seller will be reviewing all offers on Monday at 5PM)
  • Review all paperwork to ensure it is complete before submitting an offer. Missing documents or fields on a contract could result in the offer being rejected.

In case you missed it, GHAR recently hosted Pulitzer and Peabody award-winning investigative reporter, Bill Dedman.

Bill was one of four lead reports on Newsday's undercover investigation of racial steering by real estate agents, Long Island Divided. The case studies WILL grab your attention! The investigation, published in November 2019, revealed that Long Island's dominant residential real estate brokerages help reinforce racial segregation through illegal steering of customers. He has spoken on fair housing and fair lending issues to NAR, the Federal Reserve, HUD and banking and real estate associations.

Realtor and GHAR member, Ritu Goel, was presented with a citation on June 4th at the Capitol Building for her community service and for bringing awareness to the crisis facing India today. Tejal Nanavati Vallam was also awarded. It was presented by Senator Saud Anwar and signed by the speaker of House of Representatives, Matt Ritter.
