Milestones Autism Resources Awarded DODD Grant to Collaborate on Ohio Family Network
Milestones Autism Resources is very excited to have been chosen as a grantee by The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities for the Ohio Family Network (OFN). Milestones is partnering with the Autism Society of Akron, Center for Disability Empowerment (CDE), Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO), and The Family Leadership Network to develop the OFN as a pilot project in multiple Ohio counties. Milestones will focus its work in Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula Counties.

The goal of the OFN is to connect people with developmental disabilities and their families to local information and resources within their communities. Access to the OFN will provide tools and local support resources to help enhance leadership and social skills in caregivers and self-advocates. OFN will also offer opportunities for families to connect with other local families and with local non-disability resources.

Resources to Help You Talk to Your Child About Racism
With protests over the violent deaths of black Americans dominating the news, it’s understandable that many kids are feeling scared, confused or angry about the situation. How can parents, many of whom are struggling themselves, help children process what they’re seeing and manage their feelings? Here are some resources to help you start the conversation.
Milestones Autism Resources is working daily to address the evolving needs of local families.

Ohio may slowly be opening up again, but families and individuals with ASD continue to experience new challenges with school supports and providers offering limited services during the summer months.

Milestones is the trusted guide for these families when they are unsure where to turn. Your support enables our team to make sure our local autism community gets the resources they need.

Thank you to our donors who make this work possible. We appreciate your support so we can continue to serve our incredible clients and community.
