This is an extremely busy time for the Prince George's County Council, we are deep into the review of the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 Budget. I urge you to engage with us in this process.

Please plan to join me at my Virtual Town Hall meeting on Monday, April 19. I'm so pleased that Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks will join us along with representatives from County agencies to share information and resources.

I'm incredibly proud that the Council unanimously passed legislation to create a dedicated source of funding for our Housing Investment Trust Fund at the end of March. The Prince George’s County Council has worked diligently over the past several years to advance Housing Opportunities for All in Prince George’s County. Moving forward this policy recommendation from the Housing Opportunities for All Workgroup will allow the County the preserve existing affordable housing in the County and create new affordable housing options. Nominate D3 Community Champions
Over the last year, District 3 residents and organizations have come together to support each other amid the pandemic. We have shown our resilience and grown even stronger. There are countless examples of neighbors who have gone above-and-beyond to support and assist our community during this extremely challenging time. Please help us CELEBRATE them!

At the District 3 Virtual Town Hall meeting on April 19th, my office will recognize our first batch of D3 Community Champions. I know a few of our Community Champions, but there are many more that I don’t know about and each deserves recognition. I need YOU to nominate individuals who deserve recognition as a D3 Community Champion.

Saturday, April 10: Final Day to Testify on the Maglev DEIS
Oppose the Maglev: Support the "No Build" Option

Saturday, April 10 is the final opportunity to testify at the Maglev Virtual Public Hearing. Public hearings will take place from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and again from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

April 21: Connecting the Corridor: A Century of Racism and Resilience Along the Purple Line
"Connecting the Corridor" will feature presentations by community storytellers from Lakeland, Langley Park, Lyttonsville, and Bethesda, who will describe the personal and enduring consequences of the region's often inequitable development, with lessons for how our community can make sure that the Purple Line is a force for racial equity and not an instrument of displacement. The event will be facilitated by planner and writer Dan Reed, with keynote remarks from the Honorable Parris Glendening, former Governor of Maryland.
