Congratulations on your acceptance to Washington University in St. Louis! As you prepare for your transition to WashU, the First Year Center (FYC) is here to help you throughout the process.

The  Bear Bulletin  is a monthly newsletter sent to all first-year students. It contains important information about dates and deadlines, Bear Beginnings: New Student Fall Orientation, important events, and more. Check out this month's Bear Bulletin below to learn more!

Who Are We?
The First Year Center (FYC) supports new students through their academic and social transition into the WashU community.

Current WashU students work in our office as members of the First Year Center Executive Board (FYX) and will support you in your first-year journey. This group will host first-year programs, train and supervise your WUSAs (Washington University Student Associates), and more!

Meet the Author
My name is Clarinda Tan and I am a fourth-year student studying Global Health and Healthcare Management in the College of Arts & Sciences and Olin Business School. 

I am the Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) Chair in the First Year Center, so I help run FYC social media and write the  Bear Bulletin  each month!

The university Fall Contingency Planning Committee is exploring a number of scenarios to inform planning in critical areas including academic calendars, curriculum, residential life, and resource management. We will share more information as soon as it is available.

Communication from Academic Schools/Divisions

Check your WUSTL email account several times a week for important messages from your academic division. You will receive details about course registration, how to connect with your academic adviser, and may be asked to fill out important forms.

Need help finding information about your transition to WashU? The New Students Website is a great place to start. You can find information about:

Update Your Family's Email Address (If Needed)

To ensure your family members receive university announcements , including our family-specific e-newsletter, Family Ties , make sure a parent or family email is linked to your student record in WebSTAC. Please email the First Year Center to have your family email address updated.
